Lowestoft Calling! Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes on the East Coast (Blog Post #6023)

Hello my gorgeous glitterati! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you all the latest sparkle from the world of…well, me, basically! Today I'm buzzing because, after months of planning and twirling, I'm finally on the East Coast, in beautiful Lowestoft!

This is blog post number 6023, and honestly, I still can't believe how much fun I have writing these every day. You lovely lot keep me going, with your kind comments, your support for my Tutu-licious agenda, and of course, your fabulous suggestions for where to travel next!

Now, back to Lowestoft! This trip has been a bit of a dream come true, you see, ever since I saw that majestic pink lighthouse, it was love at first sight. I had visions of a sunrise photoshoot in my favourite pink feather boa, shimmering with every bit of that gorgeous golden glow… well, let's just say the clouds had other plans. It rained. So much rain! But no worries, darlings, I've embraced the classic English weather. Let's be honest, even if the skies were blue and the sun was beaming, my look is all about fabulous, dramatic, and well… pink. You can't dull down my sunshine, it's part of the brand, the whole shebang!

This adventure started with a ride on the trusty train - I absolutely adore travelling by rail, with all that time to people-watch and ponder. My usual approach is to sit up straight with the perfect posture (one must always look presentable, right?), a cup of tea and a fluffy pastry… maybe even a quick makeover if the train’s a bit on the quiet side. Oh, and of course, a brand new outfit every day! This time, I’d decided on a vibrant hot pink ensemble, complete with my sparkly signature tutu. After all, one must be ready for any opportunity, you never know who you might bump into!

So, to get you caught up, I had to journey all the way from Derbyshire, with a couple of stops for a few impromptu performances, and yes, a sneaky cupcake at the station cafe - those are always a highlight, let’s be honest! I'm quite a hit at these little local stations, you know! Every time, there's someone who has to snap a photo with the TutuQueen - it's fabulous. Honestly, it makes all the travel worth it!

But the real reason for coming to Lowestoft was the amazing, totally pink, festival happening this weekend. You guys wouldn't believe it! This massive, totally fabulous celebration of all things pink – from pink cupcakes to pink cocktails, and even pink, fluffy, cloud-like cushions. You can bet your sparkly heels that Pink Tutu Sparkles was right in the centre of the action, ready to share my love for all things pink with the world!

One of my most fabulous moments was doing a little impromptu performance on the beach! You’d think, “oh Alex, surely not with all the sand!” But believe me, when I started my performance with my new ‘Beach Sunset Pink Tutu’ (yes, it has an incredible mermaid tail of sea foam and turquoise – I have to thank my seamstress, Miss Dolly, for this masterpiece), the crowd erupted in cheers! Even the seagulls were enthralled - well, as much as they can be, bless them!

I must confess, there was a bit of an unexpected incident... It turned out, my tutu got tangled in some seaweed! I'm not talking about a little tickle of a blade here and there, I mean, literally, stuck! You wouldn't believe the chaos! Fortunately, there were several children who rushed to help – bless them! The whole experience was hilarious – a bit of a splash in the waves, and everyone was laughing! The entire audience was glued to the spectacle, and even I couldn't help but join in on the giggling. Talk about some prime-time pink Tutu action, eh?!

Anyway, I've gotta tell you about my amazing hotel. Now, it wasn't a castle or a giant fancy mansion, but it was utterly adorable, pink and polka dotted - it was love at first sight, just as I knew it would be. Imagine pink walls, pink furniture, and even pink lights in the room! Absolutely fabulous, darlings!

After my beach escapade and an early dinner at a seaside fish & chip shop (I’m all for local experiences – no matter the greasy fingers!), I decided to treat myself to some ballet! And let me tell you, my heart nearly burst with excitement. Seeing such talent and passion on the stage is so inspiring! Now, a word about those costumes... stunning. They reminded me of a real-life fairy tale - absolutely perfect! You wouldn’t believe the incredible featherwork on some of those designs! I’m dreaming of some pink, sparkly feather boas! Maybe we could get Miss Dolly to have a go at something absolutely gorgeous!

And speaking of my fashion queen Miss Dolly... I just have to tell you about my outfit for tonight's performance! Oh darling, the anticipation is killing me! I've been dreaming of it for weeks! It's a deep crimson masterpiece with an enormous, shimmering pink bow that would make even the most prestigious ballerina drool. You know, it has a whole train... just perfect for making a grand entrance at this fabulous seafood restaurant right by the harbour.

The theme is ‘Under the Sea,’ darling, so I am really going all out with an extra shimmery pink and emerald green tulle combo! You see, with a theme like this, I really couldn't leave my pink tulle out! So you can bet I’m bringing some magical glittery mermaid vibes to the waterfront. Let's just say it involves some gorgeous shimmering pink scales and a coral-inspired headpiece (it’s so pink – just wait, you’ll all adore it!)... and maybe even a tiny seahorse accessory or two.

I’m always aiming to push the boundaries of my drag! Oh, the things I could achieve if I was given the opportunity to have my own dance academy in Lowestoft… maybe that’s next year’s goal, I’ve just gotta dream a bit bigger! I’d definitely get my hands on those iconic tutu costumes for Swan Lake, or maybe some incredible sparkly tutus for Romeo and Juliet - think deep burgundy with scarlet accents! Now, who wants to sponsor my first academy?! Maybe a local businessman who knows the value of the performing arts?!

Alright, darlings, it's time for me to head off to the restaurant – after a quick touch-up, naturally! Stay tuned for a photo post soon… And until then, keep those tutus twirling, my darlings, and remember, pink is always in!

Stay glamorous,

Pink Tutu Sparkles xx
