Barking Calling: Pink Tutu Sparkles is Coming to Town!

Hello my darlings, and welcome to blog post number 6050 on Pink-Tutu.com! It’s your favourite pink-loving tutu queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and today, I’m hopping on the train to Barking! Now, I know what you're thinking - Barking? Seriously? But hear me out, my dears. Every town deserves a bit of pink tutu sparkle, don't you think?

Speaking of sparkles, my new sequined pink tutu is practically begging for its debut on a Barking stage. It’s all fluffy and feathery, perfect for pirouette-ing my way into the hearts of the local folks. I can just picture the children’s faces lighting up when they see a pink tutu, glittering under the stage lights!

My travel day was, of course, all about pink and pink-adjacent shades! I wore my favourite candy-pink dress, the one with the delicate little bow on the neckline. My luggage was an adorable pink-striped suitcase with fluffy pom poms, and you just know I accessorised with a pink beret and sparkly pink shades. Even my pink teddy, Sparkles the Bear, was in the mood for adventure.

Now, you all know how much I love to ride the rails! Something about the rhythmic chug-chug of the train puts me in a good mood. I grabbed a first-class seat with a window view - just like I do for any decent ballerina! I admired the scenery (trying not to be a nuisance with my tutu on board - I know it can be quite a spectacle, darlings) and even had a nice chat with a lovely couple across the aisle. They were going to see the Barking Ballet and told me all about their granddaughter, who’s also taking ballet classes! Such a sweet family! I do believe I managed to nudge their daughter, Sophie, into wanting to try a pink tutu with a little bit of subtle persuasion and encouragement (read: shameless promotion of all things pink and twirly).

This weekend in Barking will be jam-packed with pink-tastic fun. I’ll be strutting my stuff at the annual Barking Carnival – they have a brilliant little stage, perfect for a queen like me! I’m so excited to bring my love of tutus, pink and all things fabulous to Barking! I have this brilliant idea for a street performance – imagine a flash mob of tutu-clad Barking residents dancing a joyous, pink-filled “Tutu Shuffle!” (Get in touch if you’re interested, lovelies, let’s make this happen!)

Don't forget to follow along with me on my Pink Tutu adventure! You can follow me on Twitter (@PinkTutuSparkle) or Insta (@PinkTutuSparkle), and I’ll be sure to share all the highlights, outfits and moments of pure pink magic here on my website.

And remember, lovelies, wear a pink tutu. It makes the world a little bit brighter, one twirl at a time. Until next time, keep it sparkly and pink!

Lots of love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles xxx

Post Scriptum:
I wouldn’t be where I am today, you lovely lot, without you - my faithful pink tutu fans! It's truly heartwarming to see how much you appreciate my passion for tutus and everything pink. Remember my beginnings? That's right, it all started in a lab, in the midst of chemical samples and scientific experiments. By day, Alex is a textile researcher – testing fabrics for all kinds of properties – including wearability, strength, and you guessed it, colourfastness. Pink is actually a surprisingly complex colour to get right - that’s why all my tutus are meticulously crafted to keep them dazzling and long-lasting!

It’s funny, right? A scientist by day and a drag queen by night. And you know what? I think they both inspire each other in some really unique ways. Being a drag queen teaches me so much about self-expression, creativity, and the joy of performing. And the lab, well, it teaches me about discipline, patience and attention to detail - all skills important when perfecting a new dance move!

Let's make the world a brighter, pinker place, one tutu at a time.

Hugs and pink tutu wishes, Alex
