Crosby Calling: A Pink Tutu Pilgrimage!

Hello my darlings, and welcome back to Pink-Tutu.com! It’s your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, back from a whirlwind weekend of tutus and teacups in the beautiful seaside town of Crosby. This is post number 6066, so you know you’re getting the hottest gossip on all things pink and sparkly.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. Crosby? Why, oh why, did I choose Crosby for a pink tutu adventure? Well, darling, let me tell you, there’s more to Crosby than meets the eye!

It all began with a rather unexpected invitation to perform at the Crosby Summer Fete. Yes, darling, they wanted yours truly, the queen of pink tutus, to grace the stage with my fabulous self! And let me tell you, performing in the sunshine for a gaggle of giggling kids was an absolute blast. They loved my twirls, my sparkling, and my enthusiastic "Go for the Pink Tutu!" call-and-response, and, of course, I gave away a couple of sparkly pink tutus for the brave ones in the crowd (don’t worry, they weren't worn underneath anything inappropriate!)

Speaking of which, my darling little Cherries, did I tell you about the most extraordinary vintage tutu shop I stumbled upon? Nestled amidst the seaside cottages, hidden behind a riot of lavender and roses, lay a real treasure trove of tulle dreams! This little haven was crammed with every shape and size of tutu imaginable – some sweet, some sassy, some straight up fierce! I practically lived there for a good two hours, rifling through racks and trying on all sorts of dreamy delights. You know how I am with tutus – if I can’t get enough, I get none at all, so naturally I had to bring home a few little goodies for my own pink tutu collection. (The shop owner, a wonderfully flamboyant man in his seventies, practically gifted me a handful of beautiful tulle boas! Honestly, darlings, sometimes being a drag queen has the most fantastic perks! )

Naturally, being in Crosby, a seaside town, called for a proper fish and chips dinner by the sea. And darling, I’m talking fish and chips of legendary proportions! We piled onto the pier, surrounded by giggling families and enthusiastic seagulls, and enjoyed the crispiest, saltiest, most delectable fish and chips the world had ever seen. It was a glorious day of sunshine, good food, and good company! The sun was setting on Crosby as we strolled back to the B&B, my head filled with dreams of tutu twirls, sparkling seashells, and even more fabulous outfits I couldn't wait to design!

Of course, my adventure in Crosby wasn’t just about seaside fun and fabulous finds! (Although, really, those were two pretty amazing reasons alone, am I right? !) The true draw was the Anthony Gormley exhibition on Crosby Beach, an installation featuring over one hundred iron men standing serenely in the sea. It was simply breathtaking! It truly felt like a scene out of a magical fantasy film – something from Narnia, perhaps.

Now, some of you darlings are already wondering why I went to see something like this… what does it have to do with pink tutus, right?

Well, for those of you who don’t know me too well, let me confess my secret – I am, and have always been, absolutely captivated by art! Ballet is one of my absolute passions – but I also find incredible inspiration in visual art, sculpture, and painting. To me, art speaks the universal language of emotions, a language we all understand in our own ways, whether it’s through a beautiful ballet piece, a striking sculpture, a perfectly composed painting, or, yes, a glorious, sparkly pink tutu!

Now, let’s talk about my outfits for this incredible Crosby escapade. Let me tell you, darling, I didn’t skimp on the style this time! Daytime in Crosby found me sporting a dreamy pastel pink tiered tutu with a pale blue ruffled blouse, complete with an extravagant straw hat adorned with pink feathers and a little pink bird charm. My signature pink eyeliner was of course on point, along with my favourite shade of blush, a vintage-style floral broach that had seen better days but still held my heart.

The evening called for something a little more glitzy – my new favourite tulle ballgown in hot pink (oh darling, the sequins!) with a cascade of ruffles, an adorable little tulle bolero, and, for my finale, my most luxurious feather boa. I truly felt like a fairytale princess! I am, after all, a very glamorous princess!

To the evening soirée at the local Crosby theatre, I rode in the grand style - you guessed it - by carriage! It may not be as glamorous as a train journey, but it is oh so very elegant. As we rolled up to the theatre in the warm, balmy summer evening, my Tutu-mates ( yes, darling, a fabulous gang of Tutu-wearing lovelies who are on my ever-growing fan club) shrieked with delight and ran over to greet me. I really felt like royalty. The audience were thrilled with my performance! There were cheers, whistles, and even some pink tutus thrown onto the stage in applause - It felt simply sensational to perform on the stage surrounded by the sound of joyous squealing, applause and pink tutu throws!

And of course, it wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure without a little bit of pink magic. We celebrated the end of our extraordinary weekend with a grand picnic under a sparkling canopy of stars – with cupcakes! (Pink cupcakes of course!)

So there you have it, darlings! My weekend in Crosby was simply an unforgettable adventure in pink tulle and true, heartwarming glamour. And yes, I know you’re thinking about your pink tutu wardrobes, right? I’ve always known that my destiny is to inspire a revolution – a PINK TÚTU REVOLUTION, and what better place to begin than right here, right now, on this fabulous journey!

And, just so you know my darlings, next week I’ll be off to London… on the train (oh the sheer luxury, I'm truly living the good life!)! To a certain secret location for an even bigger Pink Tutu extravaganza - and maybe even a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes of Pink Tutu Sparkle’s exciting new Pink Tutu design line...

In the meantime, my darlings, go out there and twirl with confidence! Be bold! Be brave! And above all, wear PINK. And remember - The pinker, the better!

Until next time!

XOXO Pink Tutu Sparkles.
