Andover Adventures!

Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and oh my darlings, what a day it's been! Today's blog is extra special, as it's post number 6071! I can hardly believe it! You all know I love to travel and Andover is right up my street! As I type this, I'm sitting in a cafe overlooking the gorgeous countryside, my pink tutu feeling wonderfully breezy (although I'm careful to tuck it in and out of my trusty suitcase as I navigate these rural roads! )

Anyway, let me tell you about my day…

*So, I set off bright and early, feeling incredibly excited. Andover here I come! I was quite lucky this time – I travelled by train. It's always such a delight, you get to watch the world go by through the window while you're in the most glamorous setting! I don’t know what I love more, my favourite polka dot dress, my feather boa or being surrounded by fabulous scenery. But on this trip I packed my travelling tulle in my special tutu-carrying case – which just happened to be perfectly coordinated to my feather boa! *

My show tonight is at The Bell and Whistle Pub in the centre of town – so you know it’s going to be fabulous! They are celebrating a special event, the Andover Carnival, and I’m performing with some great local talent – the band “ The Pink Flamingos" who just so happened to have all chosen to wear pink! They were actually a bit dubious at first – they didn’t really see the value of tutus but when I popped onto the stage with my full pink outfit – a sequined pink dress and an absolutely beautiful tulle skirt that twirled round as I did, well – they were in awe! I made them a tutu each for their finale and let me tell you – they took the crowd by storm – It’s definitely inspired me to give my “Pink Tutu Sparkles “ wardrobe an update! They're all very pink inspired – and my newest feather boa will feature loads of glittery tulle too – how exciting!

I always feel so connected to my audiences when I’m performing. The music is always pumping and the crowds go wild, it's such a high! But it's more than that - the people who come along, the faces I see smiling it’s simply exhilarating! This show is going to be special. The crowds in Andover know how to celebrate life! You’d be surprised just how many people wear tutus around here!

I'm even going to teach a few tutu-related tips for my lucky audience tonight – so watch out for that! It wouldn’t be Pink Tutu Sparkles without some tips for those beautiful people! They all loved the “ twirl and sparkle " tips and my new ” Pink-tastic-Tutufied ” dance move! They all took their places by the stage so they could learn, oh it was wonderful!

But before that… a little bit about Andover! It is, as I said, nestled amongst rolling countryside. It has a delightful market square, with plenty of lovely boutiques, including the fabulous vintage clothing store “ The Tutu Boutique” and the chic and stunning designer wear store called “ The Ballerina's Closet! It is here, my darlings, where I picked out my outfit for tonight, I can’t tell you just how delighted I am, but the staff all looked fantastic, in the most elegant tulle skirts and of course pink! I must return tomorrow and buy an outfit for myself.

I’m so impressed, so impressed with all that is Andover, this really has a special charm, a really lovely charm and feel! Andover definitely has a vibrant, independent vibe and its heritage is inspiring. This town loves it’s theatre and art scene.

I did say “ the most glamourous setting”, I meant the Train. *As always, I'm obsessed with the journey! * The carriage I was in was beautifully decorated and my train neighbours were delightful! One, who called herself “Ballerina Betty”, said to me “you look just like a Ballerina!” I do get this quite a lot! You know I studied science at university and when I wasn't studying, you’d usually find me in the ballet club – where one day I tried on a tutu to support a charity – but then – you see - my destiny unfolded right in front of me, in a swirly skirt, the universe knew – this is me – pink tutu queen ! I took up the stage in “ The Glamor-Us Girls,” at university and my career took off, they all adored my pink tutus!
My science degree made me love fabrics – I mean come on! You have to know about fibres to be an amazing tutu Queen and to make this work as my full-time job, and a scientist, and still have enough time for those tutu shopping trips.

Right now, though – I'm all about my new love, this place! Andover! It does have something rather wonderful – a little piece of magic that is so refreshing! So this time, no ballet or horse – but a wonderful carriage journey and then – the most magnificent theatre show you've ever seen !

The pub is fantastic - they all know how to have fun here. But more than that - they love the joy and spirit of my show! The audiences always welcome my performances so warmly ! They all know – if you want a tutu – the queen will supply it – because it’s never too late to live out that princess dream. So you know my dear readers, you have to see my “ Pink Tutu Sparkles” tutu magic. It's never too late.

But anyway! I mustn't tell you all my secrets. Let’s just say my performance is going to be absolutely Tutu-tacular!

And to my darlings who are ready to find the perfect tutu - see you at my “ Pink Tutu Workshops" soon - there's one in London, one in Paris and one in Andover ! We are a team, a group who believe in tutus and their magic – we have our very own “ Tutu club” now. We are all in this together!

So, my lovely readers – this is Pink Tutu Sparkles signing out – join me on this journey – to wear a pink tutu – and never stop sparkling !

I’m off to do what I do best - make Andover even more tutu lovely !

Love Pink Tutu Sparkles
