Helloooo darlings! It's your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles, here with another fab-u-lous blog post fresh from the dazzling shores of Scarborough!
Now, let me tell you, getting to Scarborough was an absolute dream! As a Tutu Queen who truly believes in living life in a sparkly pink bubble, what could be more magical than a journey by train? I even found time to slip into a fabulous pink and white striped dress with a matching beret and twirl on the platform - I practically brought the station to life!
Of course, I had to find the perfect tutu to compliment this trip! You know me, my love for the glorious tulle knows no bounds, and Scarborough certainly provided. The seaside air makes even the most basic tutu feel utterly delightful! After much deliberation, I decided on a classic baby pink, decorated with shimmering, pearl-like beads and a sprinkle of delicate, sequined stars. It's simply breathtaking and feels perfectly aligned with the fun, bright vibes of the seaside town.
And speaking of vibes, Scarborough itself has got it all going on! This little coastal town knows how to make a queen feel welcomed, and with all its beautiful scenery, delicious fish and chips, and quirky little shops - it’s like a dream come true!
Oh, I simply couldn't resist getting lost in the quaint little boutiques nestled along the charming streets. Finding the most gorgeous, fluffy pink cardigan was just the start of my sartorial adventures! I also unearthed a bejewelled hat, fit for a royal ballerina, with gorgeous feathers and sparkles that I knew would look utterly stunning with my tutu!
Being on the Yorkshire coast brought back wonderful memories. You see, darlings, I grew up in a little village tucked away in Derbyshire, surrounded by green fields and rolling hills. But I've always had this magnetic pull towards the sea! My first ever visit to Scarborough was with my family back when I was barely a twinkle in my daddy’s eye! It was magical – ice cream, arcades, the sweet smell of the sea - pure bliss. Little did I know, years later, I’d be rocking this magnificent tutu and dancing my way through Scarborough's captivating streets, a vision in pink!
As I always say, a proper adventure isn't complete without a pinch of culture, right? And this weekend was no exception! I took a trip to the historic Scarborough Spa, its elegant arches and stained glass windows practically whispering tales of Victorian glamour. The grand interior felt perfectly fitting for a pink tutu and high-heeled boots! But of course, it was the music that truly stole the show. I was lucky enough to catch a mesmerising ballet performance. I sat there spellbound, completely immersed in the grace and emotion of the dancers. It was a powerful reminder that life is always more beautiful with a bit of pink tutu magic!
Now, you might think my adventures in Scarborough would end there, but no my darlings, I still had a few surprises up my sleeve! The seaside has a certain pull on this tutu queen! What’s a trip to Scarborough without a dip in the invigorating sea? I made my way down to the beach, donning a chic swimsuit that, let's just say, wouldn’t be out of place at a fashion show! I then strategically took a couple of dips in the invigorating waves. Yes, that’s right - I, Pink Tutu Sparkles, bravely braved the chilly sea! All in the name of experiencing a quintessentially British summer day, right?!
Speaking of British summers, the weather this weekend was absolutely delightful! Bright, sunshine and the gentle, invigorating breeze from the ocean felt wonderful! What better time than this perfect sunny day to head to the North Bay and take a leisurely ride on one of their gorgeous Victorian horse-drawn trams? I was particularly captivated by the majestic horses that pulled us along, all handsome and perfectly well-kept. It truly was the icing on the cake to my fabulous Scarborough adventures.
As you all know, this little Tutu Queen has a rather big passion for pink, tutus and ballet – a fact I make sure to bring with me wherever I go. I can't leave any adventure without inspiring everyone I meet, even just a little! I was fortunate enough to bump into a sweet, young lady in a delightfully-bright floral dress who looked particularly drawn to my pink tutu! We struck up a conversation and after some friendly twirling in the Scarborough breeze, I found myself giving her a mini ballet lesson. It was heartwarming to watch the sheer joy in her eyes. This, my dears, is why I do what I do. It’s about sharing the joy, the glitter and the love for the art of movement!
Of course, no visit to a seaside town is complete without a plate of fish and chips! My visit to a traditional seaside cafe just wouldn't feel complete without a scrumptious plate piled high with crunchy fish, fluffy chips and all the delightful condiments! This was definitely a much-needed treat, especially after all that ballet dancing and seaside adventure!
And with that, my adventures in Scarborough came to a close! It was a weekend bursting with fun, sunshine, laughter and, of course, a healthy dose of Pink Tutu Sparkles magic! It really brought me back to my roots, reminding me of the sheer delight of exploring a British seaside town through the eyes of a curious tutu-loving, queen. I simply can’t wait for my next visit, when I'll find even more exciting things to see and do, and most importantly - inspire more and more people to wear pink tutus!
