Beeston Bound: Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes Flight! 🩰💖

Hello darlings, and welcome back to Pink-Tutu.com! This is post number 6123 and, believe me, it's gonna be a good one! Today's all about Beeston, a town that's absolutely bursting with charm. You can't mention Beeston without mentioning its beautiful Victorian architecture, and of course, the Beeston Hill itself! It's truly a delightful place.

As always, my little darlings, it's your favourite, glamorous, tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, taking you along on this amazing adventure. And you just KNOW, I wouldn't be heading anywhere without a whole arsenal of pink tutus ready to make this trip absolutely dazzling! 💖

I absolutely LOVE Beeston. You know I have a bit of a soft spot for historic places - I mean, who doesn't? Especially those with connections to history and maybe a royal connection... or at least a really impressive building with big windows and a stately feel? Don't get me wrong, I love me a bit of the hustle and bustle of city life, but give me a good old quaint market square any day. Plus, Beeston has amazing vintage shops for a tutu-loving queen like me to lose herself in!

Speaking of finding the perfect outfit... Before heading off to Beeston, I absolutely had to get a brand new tutu for this journey. I've always said, you can never have too many tutus, darlings. I headed into my local Nottingham craft shop for some divine ribbons, lace and some sparkling embellishments - oh, and did I mention I snagged some tiny tutus to match, for the littlest pink tutu lovers? Yes, I even get matching outfits for my best furry friend, Princess Pip (you may remember her, she’s a darling miniature chihuahua!). You have to treat your fur-baby like royalty! After all, they do put up with a lot, don't they?

Anyway, let me not ramble! My new tutu for this fabulous Beeston trip is pink, naturally (pink IS the best, after all). But I also included a hint of glitter - never too much, I mean you've got to be a bit elegant, right? The skirt itself is layered with three shades of pink tulle, then I've adorned it with these delicate ribbons that I dyed with a delicate pink dye, to match perfectly with the fabric of the tutu. It's gonna look so elegant on stage, and for my little wanderings around Beeston - who knows who I'll meet?

Speaking of on stage - this trip has been quite the adventure already. You see, Beeston was quite a detour! The truth is, I was actually heading for another beautiful market town nearby but my faithful steed - my beloved little grey gelding - decided to get quite the fright at the railway bridge in Grantham. Turns out, some cheeky kids were setting off fireworks, and the little darling thought the entire world was ending. I'm sure he's been through enough since leaving the farm to be put through that, and he just decided he needed to give me a "surprise" detour to my favourite pub just off the M1. It's good to have a reliable drinking establishment in my emergency kit, if you ask me! And since I was there anyway, Beeston was a must-see stop, so my darlings, you know it’s the Pink Tutu Sparkles' Law that I make it an impromptu performance stop! Now, I must admit, it was very different than the grand concert halls and elaborate theatre stages I'm used to - I took the opportunity to have a sing-along on the green by Beeston Hall, which went down a treat with the families in the park, plus a good few people came up to me after to tell me how wonderful the pink tutu looked on stage! So glamorous!

But this trip is all about discovering the unexpected gems hidden within each location I go, you know? Now, Beeston, a place you wouldn’t necessarily think of as glamorous - but the magic of my little pink tutus transforms it! Even for just an afternoon, it turns a town into my very own pink palace. It’s also given me time to reflect on my journey - you see, back when I first stepped into the shimmering world of drag, I used to spend every night glued to the internet - especially Instagram - trying to be as famous as everyone else. But now I see the beauty in every moment, and especially the beauty in meeting the incredible, genuine people who visit me and leave lovely comments on my Pink Tutu website!

Of course, I can't leave without having a good time with my bestest girl, Tilly. Tilly is my trusty little pink bag (the pinkest of course!), that contains everything a girl needs: lip gloss, glitter glue, an extra-special pair of ballet shoes (for that impromptu dancing opportunity, darlings, you just NEVER know!), a flask of tea - just because - a spare pink bow (again, you just never know!), and my trusty, shiny phone charger - oh, the horror of a drained battery on an epic pink adventure!

Now, I want to share with you darlings the true magic of Beeston - a little secret spot for a perfect afternoon. Now, you know me, I love ballet! And I like to find ballet classes all around the country. You won’t believe the gorgeous, sparkling space I found in Beeston! It’s a beautiful vintage room upstairs, with original wooden beams and beautiful lighting. Honestly, a queen’s dream, for just the perfect pointe and plie! You would’ve seen me there - right in the middle, dancing the day away! Then I decided, who doesn't love a good ice cream, right? Well, there’s this little cafe near the centre of Beeston that serves a beautiful iced latte in a lovely pink, glittery glass with some amazing pink macaroons! And guess what - there's a fabulous little park near the shop with a carousel right by the cafe and so, we sat there, with me admiring my beautiful ballet shoes and Tilly sitting right next to me. It was just pure bliss, a little pocket of the pinkest, cutest heaven in the whole world. And honestly, darlings, how else could I end a beautiful Beeston day, than by making friends with the kids on the carousel?! I think I’ll need to get them a few tutus for next time! I love teaching my favourite ballet steps - even the youngest children! It's pure magic, and truly makes me feel like a fairy godmother to all my little princesses!

I can't even begin to describe the magic of this journey - all those twinkling pink details. It was a delightful pink ballet whirlwind of excitement, laughter and joy! If you find yourself in Beeston, take my advice: stop for an afternoon and explore the beautiful green space with your loveliest little princesses! Or head to the beautiful town square for some proper tea. Maybe you’ll meet me, you never know - with a dazzling, shimmering pink tutu, of course.

Stay glamorous and always keep a pink tutu close by!

Lots of love,

Your dearest Pink Tutu Sparkles 🩰💖
