And today's sparkle comes courtesy of a fab trip to Hitchin, a charming little town in Hertfordshire. You know, when I saw Hitchin on the map, my inner child screamed ātutu!ā and well, darling, you just canāt argue with the whimsy of a tutu-loving soul.
As always, I journeyed in style, opting for the glamorous grandeur of a steam train ride from Derbyshire. Iāve always been a sucker for the vintage charm of steam trains, the hiss of the engine, the clatter of the tracks, and the feeling of being transported back to another era. Plus, a steam train is just a little more dramatic than your usual inter-city, and you know Pink Tutu Sparkles is all about the drama, darlings!
Hitchin itself was a veritable delight! I could have easily gotten lost in its winding streets, admiring the quirky shops and traditional pubs. Thereās something about old, historical towns, like the little secrets tucked in their charming corners. As I strolled, I made sure to wear my iconic pink tutu, obviously. I do have a thing for pink, darling. If something is meant to be pink, it will be, like my hair and the whole vibe of my act! I even wore a darling pair of pink platform heels! They make my legs look miles long and when I walk down the street Iām twirling in my tutu and just sparkling.
It was on one of these lovely wanders I stumbled upon the quaint little Hitchin Town Hall. The buildingās history whispered to me, inviting me to step inside. As it turned out, Hitchin Town Hall was playing host to the town's annual Spring Fair! My senses were positively overwhelmed by the delightful symphony of music, chatter, laughter, and the aroma of fresh donuts. Of course, there were so many delicious things to try - canāt forget about the sweets and sugary goodies! This was a foodieās paradise, and letās just say, I left with more than just a sugar high.
Naturally, a pink tutu is a guaranteed way to garner attention at any fair, darling! I met so many lovely people, young and old, sharing their stories and exchanging smiles. The atmosphere was electric, full of joyful energy, and thatās exactly what I try to bring to my drag act. There was something really special about it. I think people felt that Pink Tutu Sparkles was their friend. It wasn't even about me, just sharing a smile with someone you might not meet any other day.
But it was the kids that stole my heart! They just loved the tutu, and who wouldnāt? And yes, there was a young boy who declared that he really loved the pink shoes too! Oh darling, he reminded me so much of my own younger self. Itās those little moments, darling, those heartwarming interactions, that truly make my drag journey worthwhile. Seeing those wide-eyed expressions, the genuine excitement, thatās why I spread glitter and sparkle, one town at a time! My favourite moment of the entire day was this little girl who came up to me, her eyes sparkling, and simply said: "Youāre like a real-life fairy!"
A fairy in a pink tutu! How adorable is that, darling? It really is such a magical outfit! Just picture it, a pink tutu, a shimmer of glitter and sparkles, that is enough to enchant anyone. Hitchin had me twirling in my tutu from the moment I arrived! Now, Iāve gotta be honest, I can't possibly tell you about everything I experienced. From the beautiful architecture of the St Maryās Church to the delectable offerings of the town's bakery, Hitchin was simply an all-around, gorgeous adventure, darlings!
I ended the evening in a delightful ballet class, hosted by one of the many delightful dance schools Hitchin has to offer. Iām all about ballet and ballet is all about the tutu! So it seemed a good way to finish the day, stretching my legs in pink, my lovely long, lean ballerina legs that can reach the skies.
You see, being Pink Tutu Sparkles, darling, isnāt just about the sparkly outfits, itās about living life to the fullest! Embrace the joy, dance in the streets, be bold, be confident, and spread your sparkle, however you can! You donāt need a pink tutu, darling, but if it makes you happyā¦ go for it!
