Bilston, Oh Bilston!

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing, glittery goddess, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and welcome back to my daily dose of fabulousness! Today, we're heading to the charming town of Bilston! This is blog post number 6182, can you believe it? I'm so excited to share my adventures with you.

You see, Bilston is a place that holds a special place in my sparkly heart. Why, you ask? Because this is where I experienced one of my most magical travel adventures! Now, I know what you're thinking, "Bilston? What could possibly be so amazing about Bilston?". Trust me, darlings, the magic is waiting to be discovered.

Now, I'm a gal who loves to travel. Give me a comfy train journey, a gentle horse ride, or a whimsical airplane ride and I'm ready for adventure! But there's something special about hopping on a train, feeling the rhythm of the tracks and watching the world rush by my window, knowing that an exciting new place awaits.

And this journey was no different.

It started, as always, with a whirlwind of preparations. The perfect pink tutu (I always pack multiples!), sparkly headbands galore, dazzling makeup (I mean, my fabulous face needs to be seen, right?!), and a whole heap of confidence (you know, just in case!).

I was headed to Bilston for a magical, enchanting, and completely glamorous performance! You see, I'm a girl who loves to share her love of tutus, sparkles, and all things fabulous with the world! So, I head out to towns big and small, spreading the love with a dash of glamour and a pinch of pure joy.

The train ride itself was a total blast. I chatted with some fellow travelers - there was this sweet lady who kept commenting on my tutu, a gentleman who thought I was a dancer (very flattering, thank you very much!), and a couple who kept glancing at me with their little children, whispering things like "Look! A fairy!" I have a feeling my sparkly wings are becoming increasingly well-known on the railway lines, don't you?

Now, about the performance. It was at this quaint little theater, tucked away in the heart of Bilston, that was absolutely bursting with history. It was a bit like stepping back in time with a lovely, vintage vibe. The staff was warm and friendly, and the audience was so lively and engaging - truly, the perfect blend for a wonderful evening.

But hold on, let me give you a glimpse into the amazing journey of Pink Tutu Sparkles, how a girl from Derbyshire fell in love with the world of pink tutus, ballet, and, of course, sharing the joy!

It all started during my university years. I was studying science - yes, you heard that right! I have a degree in Chemistry, don't you know! I actually started my science degree for a bit of a challenge. I was good at science but knew nothing about it and thought a little challenge in a different discipline might be fun! But my passion lay elsewhere, in the swirling beauty of dance. I was lucky enough to be part of the university ballet club, and we were involved in a charity event. Now, what does a ballet club do for charity? Why, they put on a fabulous show, of course!

The entire university got involved in that one - the dancers, the singers, musicians, comedians, anyone could participate! As the lead organiser for the show, I was busy with organising, stage managing, fund raising and even helped to run a backstage costume stall! We had so many clothes donated to our stall but a particular pink tulle tutu was donated and we could not resist a photo of everyone in the university trying it on for size! When it was my turn to try the pink tutu, I remember standing there in the university hall, with a group of giggling and excited friends around me, and something magical happened. I felt it like a bolt of lightning. It was the perfect fit. The tutu, the feeling, the magic... it was as if the tutu chose me, and the rest, as they say, is history!

That night, I felt reborn, like I had discovered my true calling, my purpose. In that moment, the world seemed to swirl with possibilities. That tutu, pink and fluffy, with sparkles as big as the stars themselves, ignited a fire within me. I was no longer Alex, the shy science student. I was Pink Tutu Sparkles!

Now, don't get me wrong. I absolutely loved my time studying chemistry - a scientist by day, Pink Tutu Sparkles by night! I mean, the world of fabrics and chemical makeups is utterly fascinating! And being a scientist, I can even test how to keep the colour of my tutu from fading, I always tell the others to wash their tutu using the washing machine setting to hand-wash because you can get an amazing, delicate wash this way with little risk of your tutu becoming too worn!

The joy of dancing, the enchantment of ballet, and the magic of performing became my new world. I knew I had to bring my dazzling world of sparkles, laughter, and pure joy to the world. That was how Pink Tutu Sparkles came to be. And, here I am, writing this blog post about my latest trip, a trip filled with sparkles, smiles, and unforgettable memories!

It was after that fateful night with my new, sparkly pink tutu that I took a chance! I started to perform. It took a while to build a name for myself, I was on local talent nights and community events for a year or two but gradually my pink tutu got a following and then a reputation, which resulted in performing in fairs and on tour across the country, from Edinburgh Fringe, to Glastonbury Festival, to smaller community festivals! You never know when your performance will land you on a cruise ship performing for a global audience, all thanks to that magical pink tutu! It really is the magic of the tutu, isn't it?!

Since then, it has been a whirlwind of exciting and wonderful performances. I have performed in churches, pubs, hotels, schools, and even on a rooftop! The opportunities just keep getting more dazzling every single day. The audiences have been wonderful - a kaleidoscope of happy, excited, and appreciative people, from all walks of life. My favourite event had to be a performance at the local hospital, just before Christmas, when we had patients, doctors, and nurses all joining in on the sing-along! Oh, the sheer joy and kindness of those performances!

You might be wondering, "Pink Tutu, how do you manage to fund all this?" Well, it's all part of the plan. Every gig, every performance, is a chance to bring joy, but also a chance to fund my dream! It's my personal motto: "Follow the glitter! Find your own sparkle!"

Bilston, you were incredible. Thank you for the warm welcome and the vibrant energy. It was truly an evening to remember! And who knows? Maybe next time, I'll bring a pink tutu to share with each and every one of you.

But that's not all, darlings. As always, Pink Tutu Sparkles loves a bit of inspiration! I'm sure you can guess, I love anything ballet-related - and I also love the elegance of horse riding, something I always make sure to fit into any long journey, especially when I travel further afield.

And so, the next exciting journey awaits! Where shall it be, I wonder? You know I love to keep things exciting, and maybe next week's blog post will feature my visit to the fabulous Birmingham Ballet in Birmingham itself, the next place on the Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure! It might even feature me in the audience in the ballet tutu.

Until then, I leave you with my signature message: wear a pink tutu and be fabulously, wonderfully you!

Lots of love and pink tutus,

Pink Tutu Sparkles. xx
