Southampton Sparkles! 💅✨ (Post #6196)

Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to paint Southampton pink! 🎀 I’ve just arrived at the station and the first thing that hit me was the fresh, salty sea air. It's like a whisper of exciting adventures just waiting to unfold! Oh, and that delicious scent of fish and chips, you just can’t beat that, can you? 😋

Anyway, this trip has already been quite a whirlwind. You know me, I’m all about efficient travel, so instead of getting stuck in the daily grind of traffic, I took the train from Derby, my home city. Train journeys are the absolute best – think glamorous, spacious seats, breathtaking countryside views (seriously, even the sheep look more chic here in the south), and the added perk of not having to worry about navigating any pesky roundabouts!

Before I head to the gig, let’s get a bit glam! You might not be able to see me yet, but I’m already resplendent in a vibrant pink tulle tutu, matching feather boa, and glitter, darling, GLITTER! The outfit itself could double as a Christmas tree – just saying! 🤣 But, there's something truly magical about a tutu, don’t you think? It just instantly makes you feel a little bit more sparkly, a little bit more daring, and a whole lot more pink!

As some of you know, my life is a bit of a fairy tale (a pink-tinted one, of course). By day, I’m your friendly neighbourhood science whizz, analysing fabrics in a lab, and by night, well, let’s just say the science gets a whole lot more fun. 😉 That moment I slipped on a tutu for the first time in uni, it was like I was destined to be a drag queen. It was just... magic! Who knew that a charity event and a whimsical piece of dancewear would ignite this passion? I guess, for me, it wasn’t about changing the world through science anymore; I wanted to make the world a little bit more glamorous!

Anyway, back to Southampton! The highlight of the evening will be the gig I have planned at this fabulous little theater, right in the heart of town. Can't tell you the details – gotta leave some secrets for my performance! 🤫 But what I can tell you is that you can expect to see a show-stopping routine with more sequins than a disco ball and more feather boas than a feather factory! 💥 Of course, there will be the traditional Tutu Queen ballet elements too – spins, leaps, and maybe even a few pirouettes. I wouldn’t dare disappoint! I am all about the fun of theatrics, incorporating those classic ballet moves with some cheeky twists to bring a contemporary and theatrical touch. It's about embracing the playful and whimsical side of drag, a celebration of self-expression and just pure fun!

And speaking of self-expression, have you embraced your inner pink tutu queen today? Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and embrace your playful side! Maybe wear a pink ribbon or add a sprinkle of glitter to your everyday look! You never know what wonderful surprises it might bring.

Anyway, enough with the pep talk. I’m already starting to feel a bit dizzy just thinking about the energy tonight – you know what they say, if you aren’t a little bit giddy at a drag show, you aren’t doing it right! ✨ But, I wouldn't have it any other way! Catch you all on the other side, with hopefully some brilliant photographs to showcase the fabulous evening. Don’t forget to keep your tutus twirling!

Much love, Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖
