Hello, darlings! It’s your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, signing in from the heart of the East Midlands – Nottingham! 🎉 This is post number 6197 for you lovely lot, and today’s all about glittery goodness and a touch of historic charm. You see, darling, Nottingham has this way about it. It’s like stepping back in time while still feeling very much in the present day. Think medieval castles and modern shopping, all wrapped up in a beautiful old town feel.
This past weekend was just bursting with opportunity! I absolutely love discovering new places, meeting fabulous people, and of course, spreading the joy of pink tutus far and wide! 🌎💖 I arrived in Nottingham by train, something about the rhythm of the rails just soothes my soul, darling. I felt like a real vintage movie star making an entrance, strutting off the carriage in my sparkling pink tutu and fabulous floral feather boa. You could say it was quite the show stopper, if I do say so myself! 😉
Ballet Dreams & Glitter Dreams:
After settling in at the gorgeous, rose-colored boutique hotel (did you think I’d choose any other colour?), I headed straight to Nottingham’s Theatre Royal. This beautiful theatre was brimming with history and excitement - just the perfect venue for me, you know? I love me a good ballet performance! This time, I had tickets to see Swan Lake. Let’s just say my love affair with this ballet masterpiece is as timeless as the beautiful tutus worn by the dancers. And I definitely saw some inspiration for future TutuQueen looks in there - maybe some feather-inspired wings, darling?! 😉
Of course, a night out wasn’t complete without a bit of drag, was it? After the show, I grabbed my girls and we ventured to the city’s newest Drag Cabaret - a gloriously decadent affair in a fabulous Victorian warehouse. The energy was just electric, darling, and the performances were mind-blowingly good! It’s no surprise I just had to join in on the fun! I think those tutus spun around even faster than the dancers on stage! 🎉 It was an absolute riot of laughter, tears, and pure joy. Oh, how I love drag culture!
Shopping Spree & Sparkling Finds
You know how I feel about shopping for fab clothes, right?! Not just any clothes, though, darling. Only the very best pink and glittering creations, and I found them here in Nottingham! We headed down to the charming Lace Market - a beautiful area named for its history in the lace-making industry. Lace might be a bit too ‘granny’ for my tastes, but the shops here were definitely overflowing with exquisite fashion finds! From the retro boutiques to the vintage treasures, I found all the sparkle I could handle and more! 💖
It wasn’t just the vintage finds, though, that made Nottingham sparkle. I discovered the most adorable boutique called ‘The Pink Tutu Boutique’ - seriously, fate must be working in my favour! The owner, a wonderfully stylish and creative lady named Claire, shared my love of all things pink. We had a long chat about fabric, tutu styles, and of course, how to spread the joy of glitter! I even got a special sparkly, handmade pink feather boa - a gift that will remind me of my amazing Nottingham trip. 💕
History & Romance:
On Sunday, we ventured out to the ancient grounds of Nottingham Castle. With its dramatic stone towers and panoramic city views, this iconic landmark was a true reminder of the history and grandeur of this enchanting city. It also gave me the perfect chance to show off my latest tutu, a stunning silver sequin masterpiece with a sweeping, flowing train, which looked fantastic against the stone backdrop!
Afterwards, we wandered around the vibrant Hockley area, a melting pot of indie shops, quirky cafes, and delicious restaurants. And for my finale, darling, a stunning horse-drawn carriage ride around the beautiful Old Market Square. I must say, I’ve always adored horses, their power and grace, and riding in style through the cobbled streets was just so utterly charming.

During my stay, I had the absolute joy of meeting some lovely, local ladies in a ballet studio, We chatted about our love for the art of dance, and I showed them the true meaning of a Pink Tutu Sparkle – by sharing a bit of my drag queen story! It's a privilege to spread the magic of confidence and self-expression, darling!
And you know, my darling followers, every single one of them promised to try a pink tutu for themselves! Now, wouldn’t that be absolutely fabulous?! It would make my heart sing!
Nottingham, you were a true gem! You offered everything I could have wished for – from captivating history to dazzling culture. I’ll certainly be back to see you again, but don't worry darling, I’ll be spreading the pink tutu love wherever I go!
