Derby Delights!

Post #6206 - Pink Tutu Sparkles’ Blog - www.pink-tutu.com

Darlings! It’s your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another adventure! I just had to share my trip to Derby with you all!

As you know, I live for travel – the thrill of exploring new places, discovering new fashions, and of course, finding the best venues for my shows. And, let's face it, sometimes the train journey is just as exciting! You never know who you'll bump into - and, of course, the opportunity for a killer outfit on public transport is never to be missed. This time, I decided on a lovely, bright pink suit, complete with a touch of glitter and a giant pink feather boa, because - let’s be real - I’m never afraid to go full sparkle!

Derby itself was a complete dream. It’s a city that perfectly blends historical charm with modern excitement. It’s the sort of place that instantly puts you in a good mood – you just know you’re in for a lovely time.

Now, my darlings, I am nothing if not a woman of taste and I knew exactly where to head: the Derby Theatre! Oh, the joy! They were staging a fantastic production of Swan Lake, and I couldn't resist catching the last show of the run. I’d spent weeks prepping my outfit – I felt like a princess straight out of a storybook, twirling around in a magnificent pink tutu and a dazzling crown (the feathers this time were bright pink too, just in case anyone missed my theme). Let's just say I completely owned it, even getting some very enthusiastic applause when I went for a twirl in the aisle – gotta work that pink tutu magic wherever I go, am I right?!

Speaking of pink tutu magic, let’s talk fashion. Because there are so many gorgeous places in Derby just perfect for a fashion-loving soul like me. We’re talking boutique shops that ooze creativity and style. I can't resist popping into a few - one day I must visit every shop in Derby - it's like an enchanting pink and sparkly treasure hunt! Every piece was just begging to be part of my next performance, my next train journey, my next… everything!

Of course, it wasn't all about fashion and ballet, I had to try the local delicacies. The cheese and pickle sandwich at the quaint little cafe right next to the theatre - a bit of a classic, but delicious. And the strawberry tart at the fancy little tearoom, well, that was divine - I ate it with a cute, tiny, sparkly pink fork - pink fork everything, you see?

Now, as you all know, a little light entertainment is essential, right? Well, Derby definitely delivered! I went to see a hilarious drag show at a quirky little cabaret bar. It was an explosion of colour, sequins, and laughter. The whole atmosphere was electrifying – perfect for a Saturday night.

One of the most exciting parts of my Derby escapade, however, was my impromptu visit to the local stables. I absolutely love horses - they have a certain magic about them. So when I discovered there was a stable close to my accommodation I knew I had to pay them a visit! These amazing creatures just have the most expressive faces and personalities – a stark contrast to the cool composure of my own sparkly pink makeup, haha! And let’s be honest, what’s more fitting for a pink tutu princess than a beautiful white stallion with a majestic pink ribbon?

You know I can't resist a photo-op! So of course, I got to capture some lovely pics with the beautiful steeds. As soon as I can, I'm going to get myself some proper horseback riding lessons - can you imagine a whole pink tutu and feathers outfit on horseback? (Maybe the feathers need to go, but that’s a detail for later.)

Derby was an absolute whirlwind of wonder and enchantment. I mean, how could you not love a city that embraces individuality and creativity? There is nothing like it for pure, undiluted joy! My only regret is that I couldn't spend even more time there! And, as always, the best part? I met some incredible people, each unique, amazing, and absolutely fabulous in their own way! I got to share a pink tutu laugh, a sparkly story, a dash of my signature charm. I managed to persuade several people to wear their own pink tutus too.

I must say, my trip to Derby reminded me why I do what I do – spreading glitter, laughter, and that quintessential pink tutu spirit. Remember, darlings, life is short, so always wear your sparkle! Wear a tutu. It’s your birthright!

And that’s my update from your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles! Don’t forget to follow my blog and let me know about your favourite cities! Remember, a pink tutu goes anywhere!

Til next time!

Love and sparkles,
