Oh darlings! It's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to whisk you off to Chester, the beautiful city with a stunning Roman past! This fab little jaunt marks a return to my "On the Road" blog series, and let me tell you, it's been a simply divine adventure!
Now, some of you may think it's odd, a drag queen touring a quaint English city, but my dears, it's all about finding magic in the everyday. You see, life is like a dance - there's a twirl for every moment, a pirouette for every occasion! And my Chester escapades certainly involved a lot of twirling!
As many of you know, I have a thing for pink, for tutus, and for exploring new corners of this beautiful world. And what better way to discover Chester than with a grand tutu ensemble and a whole lot of fabulousness?
I set off for this Chester adventure in a most delightful manner - via train! Now, I know some prefer the motorways, but there's nothing quite like gazing out the window at the rolling countryside. It's like watching a slow-motion ballet – graceful, flowing, and a whole lot of fun!
My arrival in Chester was met with sunshine, chirping birds, and a quaint little pub with the most charming rose garden. A spot of afternoon tea and a gossip with some locals - how delightful! It turns out Chester has a vibrant theatre scene, which you already know is my jam!
The theatre wasn't all about Shakespearean tragedy for me, oh no. A ballet class, you ask? Naturally! The steps were delightful, my new tutu shimmering as I executed each elegant pose. It was like being back in my student days, only with a far more impressive pink tulle collection! Remember my first tutu? Back in those days, I was just a science student in Derbyshire, tucked away in a lab. I remember getting the chance to wear a tutu for charity in the university ballet club, and boom - that's how I found my purpose! It's still the same thrill!
Then came the main event - the performance! Chester's stage has seen everything from Roman chariot races to dazzling stage productions. And there I was, shimmering in my pink tulle delight, bringing a splash of joy to the town.
The performance itself was a kaleidoscope of colour, song, and a whole lot of heart. I strutted my stuff, shimmied my way into every corner, and even taught the audience a couple of my favourite dance moves! Of course, my routine had to include my signature spin. Can't have a Pink Tutu Sparkles performance without a good, old-fashioned, tutu twirl!
