Now, I know what you’re thinking – “Pink Tutu, all the way to the seaside? Surely you've not lost your mind?” Well, my lovelies, nothing could be further from the truth! I just can't resist a chance to swap my Derbyshire dales for some coastal charm and let my sequins sparkle under the sunshine.
Speaking of sequins, let me tell you about the journey down! I took the scenic route, of course, catching a lovely vintage steam train to the coast. This wasn't just any train, mind you - it was a real treat, complete with comfy velvet seats, old-fashioned luggage racks, and, gasp… an observation carriage with a stunning view of the rolling hills! Just imagine, my loves, all that pink tulle gently swaying as I gazed out at the countryside – pure bliss!

A Day in the Life: My Journey from Lab to Stage
Some of you might wonder, “But Alex, how do you manage all this? From lab to stage?” Well, my dears, it takes a lot of balancing and a good dollop of determination!
You see, during the day I’m just Alex, your average lab-coat-wearing, science-loving girl! It's not the typical image of a tutu-wearing queen, but there's an interesting side to it!
I work at a textile research company, and I have the absolute joy of testing the quality and performance of various fabrics, even those used to create amazing pink tutus! That’s right, sometimes I'm analysing fabric strength, moisture resistance, and colour fastness... All to ensure you’re getting the best and most gorgeous tutus imaginable! It’s actually really interesting, and it definitely helps to inspire me for my performances.
By night, it’s time to transform! My days are a blur of pipettes and beakers, while my evenings are spent on makeup, practicing dance moves, and, naturally, choosing my perfect pink tutu for the night. It takes a bit of scheduling and a whole lot of glitter to make it work! But believe me, it’s all worth it!
You see, I wasn't always this glam. My journey began when I was just a shy girl, studying chemistry at the university. Then, bam! I discovered the university’s ballet club and decided to try out a tutu. The rest, as they say, is history! The moment I donned a tutu for a charity event, a spark ignited in me!
