Barrow, you say? Yes, darling! I took the scenic route to this enchanting seaside town, not by aeroplane, no, no, but by horse! 🐎 Imagine the wind in my perfectly-coiffed pink hair as we galloped through the countryside! 🌬️ (Just kidding, dears. It was a train journey, though just as much fun.)
Now, this little trip wasn’t just a whimsical escapade, oh no! I had a big performance at the town's annual spring fair, celebrating everything local and, well, fabulous! And fabulous it was, darlings. 🤩 Imagine, rows upon rows of colourful stalls bursting with delightful treats, handmade crafts, and a whole lot of laughter!
My performance was a real highlight. Let me tell you, darling, when I hit that stage in my full, feather-trimmed, pink tutu and sequined top, you could feel the crowd's excitement bubble over. 💖🎤💃 It was an absolute delight!
After my grand show, I had to experience Barrow's local charm. A visit to the Barrow Park, the perfect setting for a stroll, took my breath away. 🌳🌸 It’s no wonder it’s been dubbed the Green Heart of Barrow! So peaceful, so calming. I swear I even spotted a little grey squirrel trying on a pink bow - such a trendy squirrel! 🐿️🎀
Next up, the Furness Abbey! My love of history really took over! The ancient stonework and the sense of time were truly spellbinding. Imagine the lives that passed through those very halls! 🖤 The gothic archways and the sprawling ruins created an enchanting backdrop. Perfect for an Instagram story, darling!
The day simply wouldn’t be complete without a delightful fish and chips experience, the ultimate British treat! 🐟🍟 I opted for a walk along the bustling Barrow's Promenade, where the salty sea breeze kissed my face, and I watched the world go by as I devoured this quintessential delicacy.
As you know, my darlings, my favourite place to go when travelling is, of course, a dance studio! And, wouldn’t you know it, there was this brilliant place called Dance Academy. They even have a ballet class specifically designed for adults! You could feel the passion and creativity flowing from the dancers! 🤩 The music, the elegance, the pure joy - I couldn't help but slip on a pair of ballet shoes and twirl myself right into the studio! (Disclaimer, I'm not quite sure what I was doing but my tutus make any moves look pretty spectacular!) 😉
And of course, no trip to Barrow in Furness would be complete without a shopping spree! I snagged the cutest, most delightful pink silk scarf, which, believe me darlings, will be gracing many of my future dance performances. 🤫 You can bet your bottom dollar that the sequins and glitter were flowing in the local boutiques. ✨ I’m now practically bursting with new ideas for my wardrobe! 👗
Now, darlings, it's time to get back to reality (which, as a drag queen, means a whole lotta glitter) and get ready for my next exciting adventure. 💖 But until then, please remember, there is a pink tutu for everyone.
