Hello, my darlings! It’s your favourite pink tutu wearing, glitter-loving, and oh-so-fabulous drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another delightful post! Today I’m taking you on a journey with me, from the cobbled streets of my Derbyshire home right to the bustling heart of Newbury, where I’ll be performing my heart out for all of you lovely people.
But first, tea and a chat! You know I always love to share a little bit of my day-to-day life with you, especially when it comes to getting glammed up. My little flat in Derby is a flurry of activity this morning – think feathers, sequins, and yes, even a little bit of scientific equipment! (You know I wouldn’t miss a day of testing fabrics for my sparkly designs.)
Speaking of fabrics, have you ever thought about trying a pink tutu? It might seem a little out there, a bit bold, but trust me, the feeling is pure magic. You might be a lawyer, a teacher, a plumber, a doctor, or anything in between. It doesn’t matter who you are, that moment you put on a pink tutu, you’re unleashing your inner spark!
But where do I find the inspiration? Well, apart from being an unabashed pink lover (more pink, please!), ballet holds a special place in my heart. From twirling around the university ballet club, all those years ago (yes, I’m a scientist by day!), to getting lost in the beauty of professional shows, it's a truly inspiring art form.
It was during a university fundraiser that my pink tutu journey began. Dressed in a rather large pink tutu for a costume competition, I had the audience in stitches – and suddenly, the magic of being Pink Tutu Sparkles began to blossom.
Now, here I am, performing in charming little towns like Newbury, my stage lit by shimmering spotlights, bringing the magic of glitter and tulle to the stage! You'd be surprised by the diversity of venues I perform in – village halls, pubs, even local fairs – but every stage has its own unique magic. I love it all!
So, how does a Derbyshire girl get around England in all her glory? I’m no stranger to long train journeys (the ultimate place to get lost in a good book, and who knows, maybe inspire a new dance number!). And who can resist a ride on a beautifully-kept horse-drawn carriage? Talk about glamourous transport!
This trip to Newbury has been quite a whirlwind, my darlings! There are so many gorgeous little boutiques bursting with charm and vintage finds, a real paradise for a girl who loves clothes shopping. And don’t even get me started on the adorable cafes with their perfectly made lattes and delectable pastries!
But the real highlight of this trip, apart from getting to know the amazing people here, is my show tonight. We're talking flamboyant outfits (with an extra emphasis on pink, of course), glittering makeup, and choreography that would make even a seasoned ballerina swoon. The energy is electrifying, the music is powerful, and my tutus – let's just say they’ll make everyone in the audience smile.
Tonight is about letting go, embracing the power of pink, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. You'll find me spreading joy, glitter, and love, reminding everyone of the simple pleasure of wearing a pink tutu!
