Hiya darlings! It's your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back with another installment of my sparkly, fabulous travels! This is blog post number 6393, and I am SO excited to share this one with you, because it's all about North Shields! Yes, you heard that right - yours truly, Pink Tutu Sparkles, took my pinkest tutu and my biggest smile all the way to the North East, and let me tell you, it was absolutely magical!
You know I live for a good adventure, and North Shields was just the ticket. I mean, who wouldn't be smitten by a town known for its historical docks and vibrant art scene? This place had me captivated from the moment I arrived, with its cobbled streets and quaint little shops bursting with charm. But don't worry, darlings, my journey was anything but dull!
As you know, my favourite way to travel is by train. There's something about the rhythm of the tracks, the passing scenery, and the chance to eavesdrop on other people's conversations that fills me with such joy! It was the perfect opportunity to unleash my inner fashionista, because what else could I wear but my trusty pink tulle number? Seriously, it turns heads on the train like you wouldn't believe. One particularly sweet gran even asked if she could touch the feathers on my hat! How cute is that?
But let's get back to my trip! Once I arrived in North Shields, I knew I had to experience its famed history. We popped into the Segedunum Roman Fort, a massive site where you can practically hear the echo of Roman history! Did you know it's a UNESCO World Heritage site? Well, now you do! Seeing these ancient ruins, so well-preserved and full of stories, really put a spring in my step.
Of course, no trip to the North East would be complete without a hearty, delicious meal, wouldn't you say? Now, I'm a huge fan of fish and chips, but North Shields had a whole world of delights to offer! I indulged in the most exquisite seafood platter, with prawns so fresh you could almost hear them singing a sea shanty. Oh, and don't get me started on the homemade chips! It was like a dance of crispy perfection in my mouth.
My stay in North Shields wouldn't have been complete without some dance, darlings. I stumbled upon this gorgeous, independent ballet school right by the seafront called "Dancing Dreams." Now, this place is truly special. It was buzzing with a community of passionate dancers, all shapes and sizes, absolutely radiating joy. I mean, who needs to hit a stage when you've got this beautiful, seaside location to twirl in? It was simply enchanting!
My biggest accomplishment in North Shields, however, was inspiring a whole town to embrace the pink tutu! It started as a whimsical thought: wouldn't it be divine to see every single person in this bustling town rocking a pink tulle creation? Well, guess what? It kind of happened! During my street performance at the Old Low Light heritage centre, people started gathering round, fascinated by the spectacle. There was a family of five, decked out in pink tutus and matching feather boas - and even a granny with her fluffy pink hat and a tiny, pink feather boa for her shopping basket! It was an absolute riot, and so wonderfully joyful!
I think I'm becoming an influencer of sorts. The power of a good pink tutu is truly infectious, it seems. Maybe that's my calling - to spread love, sparkle, and tulle across the globe, one pink tutu at a time!
Before I leave, let's talk about what made this trip even more special. Did I mention the breathtaking scenery? The view from Tynemouth Castle was straight out of a fairy tale, and the colours of the coastline, the sea, and the sky… well, it made me wish I had an entire wardrobe full of pink tutus so I could capture every shade!
Honestly, darlings, North Shields stole a piece of my heart. From the cobbled streets to the dancing dreams, the warm welcomes, the tasty fish and chips, the historic fort and the breathtaking seaside views... this was an experience I won't soon forget. And you know, sometimes all it takes to find joy and magic is a little bit of pink, a touch of tulle, and a whole lot of sparkle.
