Hello my darlings!
It's your Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back with another fabulous post from the road! Today we’re venturing into the lovely town of Ecclesfield in my home county of South Yorkshire - so, it’s like coming home in a way, only extra sparkly.
Before I get into the glamour of Ecclesfield, a quick confession: I’m slightly hungover from last night's performance at the Harrogate Fringe. It’s a tough job being a drag artist, you know! All that glitter, posing, singing… It takes its toll. But the crowd was phenomenal! A huge bunch of tutu-loving ladies (and a few guys too!), all clapping and cheering – even when I forgot the words to my final number, “This Is How We Do It in Derbyshire” (It happens sometimes, but who can blame a girl for forgetting when it's all so chaotic and fun?).
Anyhoo, back to Ecclesfield! I got to Ecclesfield on the morning train. Love the train! Especially for those long journeys where you can spread out your tutu – you can't really do that on a bus! I did look quite fetching though, pink tutu sparkling in the morning sunshine – even if I do say so myself! And everyone on the train was giving me approving glances. My tutu game is definitely getting stronger!
Arriving in Ecclesfield felt like a welcome retreat. Everything seemed quiet, green, and a bit dreamy. Definitely a far cry from the loud and crowded Harrogate Fringe. The first thing I did was take a leisurely stroll down Ecclesfield's main street, popping into some of the lovely vintage shops - gotta get myself a fabulous feather boa for next week's show! I found a beautiful shade of cerise that’s definitely going to add a dash of color to my look!
After the shops, I decided to head to the Ecclesfield Shopping Village. A must for any pink-loving fashionista, I mean, where else could I get more fabulous tutus! (Spoiler: I got three – can't resist!). I discovered a tiny artisan cafe, nestled right inside the shopping village. The owner was a total sweetheart! They served up some fantastic hot chocolate, topped with fluffy clouds of pink whipped cream. It was the perfect afternoon treat for this little Pink Tutu!
Speaking of fluffy clouds… have you heard of the Ecclesfield Park? It’s this enormous green expanse right in the heart of the town, with loads of gorgeous flowerbeds. A perfect place for a photoshoot in your favorite tutu! I'll be sure to post my photos soon, so keep an eye on www.pink-tutu.com !
This morning, before setting off to find my next performance spot, I took a stroll around the Ecclesfield Heritage Centre. The history buffs would be right at home here! Lots of old photographs, historical artifacts and interesting stories of the area’s past. It’s not all about fashion and sparkles you know - a bit of learning can't hurt anyone, can it?
Ecclesfield was a real highlight of my trip so far, a calm haven of lovely people and stunning scenery. It was just the escape I needed after last night’s crazy show in Harrogate! I have a good feeling Ecclesfield is gonna feature in one of my upcoming tutu routines… maybe I’ll bring a few extra tutus to share! It’s always a pleasure to bring a bit of “Pink Tutu Sparkles” magic to the world. And now… well, my next performance venue calls… So, gotta jet! I'll leave you all with this little tip – you know how much I love dancing and wearing fabulous outfits… so what better way to spend an afternoon than in a dance class, dressed in a spectacular tutu, right? It’s my dream way to spend an afternoon and now you can have that too!
