This time, I'm whisking you away to the charming town of Frome, tucked away in the rolling hills of Somerset, England. It’s a gorgeous little town and a fantastic place for a fabulous queen like me to sprinkle a little sparkle!
So, imagine it…me, your ever so slightly-over-the-top Pink Tutu Sparkles, decked out in my most glorious pink tutu (it’s got feathers, you see, so fabulous!). I hopped onto a train from Derbyshire, a journey filled with the rhythmic rumble of the tracks, the whoosh of the wind whipping past the carriage windows and, of course, the endless admiration for my pink attire from fellow passengers. Everyone needs a little tutu-liciousness in their lives, don’t you think?
The air in Frome was crisp and cool, with the faint smell of freshly cut grass lingering on the breeze. This quintessential English town, nestled in the picturesque Mendip Hills, was teeming with history, charming independent shops, and cobblestone streets fit for a fairy tale. It was a perfect spot for a tutu-wearing princess like me to explore.
Frome has a beautiful town centre full of art galleries, independent shops and boutiques. I’m always on the lookout for dazzling sequins and tulle, so I just had to poke around the town’s lovely array of vintage clothing stores. A girl's gotta keep up her pink wardrobe, right? After all, we all know that pink is not just a color; it's an attitude, a way of life.
But I wasn't just in Frome for fashion, darlings! It's also a haven for theatre enthusiasts, with a charming little theatre nestled right in the town centre. It was called The Frome Festival Theatre, and I just knew I had to go. Of course, I arrived with a magnificent bouquet of pink roses, for all the lovely performers and crew! After all, we’ve all got to celebrate the art of performance, right?
My day was even more fantastic as it was Frome’s monthly “Market Day,” filled with artisan crafts, fresh produce, and delicious local delicacies. What more could a girl want? I stopped at every stall, charmed the socks off the vendors, and naturally had to indulge in some delicious artisan bread with local cheese – and a strawberry smoothie, naturally.
And just as the day was coming to a close, I saw the most beautiful thing - a little girl twirling in a pink tutu, eyes sparkling with the same joy and wonder I feel when I put on my own magnificent plumage. A real sign, my dears! We need more tutus in this world! More joy, more beauty, and more fabulous pink tutus!
I must admit, Frome captured my heart with its blend of tradition and modern charm. There’s no place quite like Frome, truly! It’s filled with friendly faces, warm smiles, and the undeniable magic of a bustling little town.
And you know what? My little pink tutu, she's been making quite the statement! She even made an appearance on the local Frome Festival Theatre's stage during a play. Of course, I couldn't have missed the chance to grace them with my presence! Let’s just say the audience absolutely loved the sprinkle of extra sparkle. And let’s not forget, I did make some fabulous friends, both onstage and off! Everyone needs more tutus in their life. It's simple science! You see, darling, I even combine my drag with a day job! It's a tough job for a queen as sparkly as me - I work as a scientist, testing fabric and all kinds of fun things in a lab! Don't you think that's a good life-balance? The day’s about research and finding new discoveries for my outfits; at night, it's the glitz and glamor.
