Now, you know me, I'm all about embracing the unexpected, and honestly, who would have thought Shenley Brook End would be a haven for tutus? But it is! You know how much I love getting off the beaten track, and a train journey – that's what really does it for me. Nothing like the rhythmic clatter of the wheels to get me feeling inspired.
But let's talk tutus, shall we? This week has been a real rollercoaster! My life's a whirl of performing in fun fairs, charming the crowds at local pubs, and strutting my stuff in glittering, gorgeous outfits! I even squeezed in a ballet class – gotta keep those skills sharp, darlings! You wouldn't believe the fun we had practicing a graceful plié, the graceful fluidity just flowed through me, like an elegant, pink feather.
And, oh, darling, the shopping! This trip wouldn’t have been complete without a pit stop at a lovely vintage boutique – you know, the kind that’s crammed full of lace, sequins, and all things sparkly? I mean, what's a pink-tutu queen without her glitz and glam, right? I managed to snag the most fabulous sequined jacket – picture, baby pink, sequins shimmering like a thousand stars - just wait until I show you all in my next performance.

I’ve got some truly spectacular plans brewing up. There’s a ballet show coming to Nottingham, and a fundraising event in Derby – oh, it's all happening! And guess what? I’m planning a whole new, dazzling dance routine! I’m talking, pirouette perfection, grand jeté, the whole shebang – all to the sound of some seriously catchy tunes! You can imagine how excited I am.
But one thing's for sure, no matter where life takes me, I'll always be rocking my pink tutu. After all, that’s what it's all about: sharing the love of glitter, the power of sparkle, and the joy of living life in full colour – pink, of course.

Behind the Tutu: Alex's Story 🧪🩰
If you’re reading this, chances are you're a fellow glitter-loving, pink-tutu-adoring soul who’s got the sparkle in your eyes just like me. And that, my darling, is wonderful!
I know I haven't always been Pink Tutu Sparkles. In fact, there's another side of me: a more scientific side! You could even say it’s a completely different side! You wouldn't believe it if I told you how I, Alex, the science whizz, ended up wearing pink tutus for a living! It’s actually a funny story that has everything to do with my university years.
My life had always been about microscopes, labs, and meticulously studying complex chemical structures, But when I joined the university ballet club, something truly magical happened – I stumbled upon a pink tutu!
I know, I know, it seems strange for a scientist to be wearing a tutu! I'll be honest, it felt like a universe away from test tubes and beakers. It felt ... unexpected. But it was amazing! It just clicked for me – that moment of discovering the joy of dressing up, of expressing myself through colour and creativity, well, it felt electric! It ignited a flame within me that was bursting to be expressed!
Honestly, the entire process was hilarious – my lab partner (a wonderful soul who had joined the student fundraising for a local children's charity) simply popped the tutu onto my head! I can still see his bewildered expression!
And the rest, darling, is history. My pink tutu became my new world, my creative expression! It started off as just a little fun, but I discovered how much I truly loved being Pink Tutu Sparkles, how empowered I felt, and the magic of transforming myself, from Alex the scientist to this shining queen! I just loved making people happy – even bringing a smile to someone’s face after a stressful day in the lab was something truly rewarding. And it got me thinking… why not do this professionally, why not spread a bit of joy as Pink Tutu Sparkles?
That’s how it all began, darlings! Now, my days are spent at the lab – I’m a fabric technician, you know, all those beautiful fabrics we see in fashion, well, they pass through my hands! It's fun, there's something special about working with a range of beautiful materials.
Then, after lab hours, it’s tutu-time! I’ve been touring, performing at all kinds of places – pubs, clubs, community events, fairs. I absolutely love the buzz, the energy, the audience's reactions.
Every day is an adventure, darlings, but my true purpose – my absolute passion – is to spread a little bit of that magic: to empower people to celebrate themselves, to embrace colour and individuality!
