Consett Calling: Tutu-licious Adventures in the North East!

Hey, darlings! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, and guess what? I'm on the road again! 💃

This time, the journey took me all the way up to the lovely Consett, in the North East. Oh, how I love those winding, romantic train journeys! They're just the best way to travel, and they always put me in such a good mood for a glamorous evening of performances. You see, it’s my aim in life to bring my fabulous, pink-tutu-loving ways to the whole wide world, and what better way to do it than to perform for lovely audiences in every town and city?

This little blog is number 6438 in my quest for pink-tutu-dom! Every day, you can find me here, on www.pink-tutu.com, sharing all my girly fun and glamorous adventures.

Anyway, back to Consett! My journey started in Derbyshire, my humble home county. I've been feeling quite the scientist lately - it's my day job, you know, testing fabrics in the lab. Stifles a yawn. You won't catch me wearing anything synthetic, darling! But when it comes to my drag wardrobe, well, it’s all silk and velvet and shimmering satin!

As soon as I clocked out from my laboratory shenanigans, it was time to transform! You see, it’s more than just putting on a fancy costume – it's about being Pink Tutu Sparkles - that's me! A little bit cheeky, a whole lot of fabulous, and absolutely head-over-heels for my pink tutus. This latest one? A dreamy shade of lavender, darling! It even has little shimmering star embellishments, just for a touch of magic.

The journey up north was quite an experience! I packed a special pink-tutu-themed picnic (think, dainty cucumber sandwiches and, of course, a little bottle of Prosecco!) and popped it onto my comfy compartment seat.

Now, I’ve always adored ballet - even when I was a tiny tot! You could find me in the corner of our living room, trying to dance with the TV! Ballet is what sparked my love of pink tutus, you know? All those sparkly ballerinas twirling about in their glorious tutus. The first time I put one on, I was about 18. Our university had a ballet club and they were fundraising for costumes. It was love at first twirl!

When I got off the train, I was thrilled to find Consett looking absolutely lovely. Imagine cobbled streets and old buildings – the kind that always remind me of romantic fairytale films. And oh, the people were just so lovely! It really reminded me of that time I performed at a grand manor house in the Lake District. They just loved their Pink Tutu Sparkles! I wonder where I'll perform next. Perhaps one day, Consett!

This time, I was invited to perform at a charity gala. They wanted me to create a show-stopping routine and I thought, “Why not give them something truly dazzling?” I pulled out my favourite long-sleeved, black-velvet-and-sequin jacket, a glittering bodice, and a pink tutu with rows of sparkling diamante. You could see people looking at each other and whispering. “Is she actually wearing that? It’s too fabulous for words!” Then they’d look at me again, a smile playing across their faces.

The whole night was magical! We started with a glamorous waltz. My stage partner was such a sweet, polite lad! And for my second number, I really went for it – an acrobatic, upbeat dance. They loved it! After all, who could resist a pink tutu-clad drag queen with a smile like mine?

You see, a pink tutu can do a lot more than just twirl. A pink tutu can make people laugh, think, and most importantly, feel joyful. Isn't that what makes a truly wonderful evening? Maybe that’s what my life’s about really, to bring a bit of sparkle to every performance!

So if you ever see Pink Tutu Sparkles performing somewhere near you, come say hi! Don’t forget your dancing shoes, darling. And let’s raise a glass to those dreamy, girly pink tutus.

Til next time, babes! 💕✨
