Coulsdon Calling: Tutu Time!

Darlings, it's your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing, glitter-bombing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from Coulsdon! I'm here, ladies, with my sequins shimmering under the summer sun, ready to spread some serious pink-tastic joy.

Coulsdon, for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of its acquaintance, is a delightful little spot nestled somewhere in the beautiful county of Surrey. It's known for its quaint high street, its pretty parks, and its delightful mix of bustling shops and sleepy cottages. It also, let me tell you, is just begging for a bit of Pink Tutu Sparkles magic.

Now, I won't lie, my journey here was a bit of an adventure. It began in Derbyshire, my home county where, believe it or not, the sight of a pink tutu still makes some people blink. I decided, in a fit of sheer tutu-licious inspiration, to make my grand arrival in Coulsdon on horseback! My trusty steed, a magnificent grey gelding named Sparky (no, he didn't get his name from me, honest!), carried me through the rolling countryside with a grace that even the most seasoned ballet dancer would envy.

I have to admit, it was quite a sight โ€“ Pink Tutu Sparkles in all her glory, gliding through the meadows, the sun glinting off the pink feathers of my tutu. And you know what? Everyone was grinning! Even the sheep in the fields looked like they were ready to join in a conga line.

Arriving in Coulsdon, my first stop had to be the Coulsdon Manor House. You wouldn't believe how excited I was! You know me โ€“ a vintage architecture fanatic. This manor house, built in the early 17th century, oozes with old-world charm and is surrounded by a gorgeous park perfect for a leisurely stroll in my tutu, darling. The house itself was undergoing some renovation, so while I couldn't take a peek inside, the exterior alone was a feast for the eyes. And I just had to snap a few photos of myself in front of it โ€“ you can't have a tutu-filled day without documenting the moments!

Speaking of documentation, I have to show you my absolute favourite part of my Coulsdon adventure: the Coulsdon and Purley Choral Society's performance of Gilbert & Sullivanโ€™s The Gondoliers. It was an utter delight! You see, this queen has a soft spot for musical theatre โ€“ my university days, full of ballet classes and performances, really sparked a lifelong passion for the arts. It wasnโ€™t a perfect performance (because perfection is boring, darlings) but their passion and genuine enjoyment for the performance was infectious. They took me on a whirlwind ride through Venice and all its captivating love stories. Their costumes, well, let's just say, I could easily see myself performing alongside them in a fabulous pink tutu!

From beautiful old buildings and enchanting performances to vibrant streets teeming with shops and cafes, Coulsdon truly has something for everyone. After the opera, I spent a blissful afternoon indulging in the local shops. You wouldn't believe the stunning vintage jewellery I found! My latest collection for the website (hint hint โ€“ new post coming tomorrow on pink-tutu-approved fashion for the autumn!) was practically begging me to buy it all! And don't even get me started on the delectable selection of tea shops. It was high tea heaven. Oh, and a bit of retail therapy? Oh yes, my darlings! A new pink feather boa for the new season, a sparkly headband (to make even the most ordinary outfit scream 'tutu'!) and of course a few fabulous pair of pink high heels! My wardrobe is ready for any new adventures this autumn.

Later that evening, I had the incredible opportunity to put on a show for the folks at the Coulsdon Village Hall! They even provided a fabulous spotlight, a backdrop that just begged for some glitter and sequins, and even a mic โ€“ perfect for belting out some showtunes. I think I left them wanting more, darlings โ€“ I could see their heads bobbing to the rhythm of my rendition of "Puttin' on the Ritz" - even the granny in the front row was tapping her feet. I love getting the chance to bring my own brand of glitter-tastic magic to all sorts of new corners of the world, reminding everyone that a bit of pink, a touch of tulle, and a lot of sparkle can make any day truly fabulous.

As the night wrapped up, I was back on the road, this time taking the scenic train ride back to Derbyshire. Coulsdon was a truly delightful experience โ€“ full of culture, community and so much friendly, accepting energy! And who knows, darling, perhaps one day soon, Pink Tutu Sparkles will make a grand return to Coulsdon. I certainly have a few more sequins-studded secrets to spill, and some new sparkly looks to debut in this enchanting town.

But for now, my darlings, I leave you with a challenge: embrace your inner sparkle and put on a pink tutu! Itโ€™s not about looking like a ballerina or taking on a fancy stage - itโ€™s about shining your own light, taking on new challenges and feeling confident in your own fabulousness! So go on, go on โ€“ rock that tutu and let your fabulousness out!

Stay sparkly!
