As the train whisked me in from the Derbyshire countryside (horses are delightful, but a comfy train ride is hard to beat), I already knew this weekend would be a triumph.
You see, Nottingham is one of those cities that just seems to beckon for a spot of fabulousness! It’s full of hidden gems – quirky little cafes bursting with colour and creativity, and oh-my-tutu the theatres are just a dream! A true ballet lover’s paradise.
Now, some of you may wonder, how does Pink Tutu Sparkles manage to explore the world in a swirl of tulle and glitter? Well, darling, it's all about turning my passion for performing into a magical adventure! By day, I'm Alex, a whiz kid in a lab, meticulously testing fabrics and whispering to scientific instruments. By night, well, let's just say the lab coats get swapped for feathers, sequins, and…yes, you guessed it, PINK! My dazzling drag shows bring joy to events across the country – festivals, fairs, even that annual dog show down the road!
This weekend was particularly special. My darling friend, Violet Velvet, had contacted me all aflutter about an amazing opportunity. "Darling," she gushed, "They’re putting on this sensational performance of ‘Swan Lake’ at the Theatre Royal and you simply MUST see it! It’s not every day you find a show that makes tutu hearts flutter!" I just had to accept, didn’t I? I mean, who could resist a performance that speaks to the tutu-loving soul in all of us?
Of course, the first order of business was wardrobe. Imagine my glee, darling, when I stumbled upon this dazzling pink, feathered creation!
