Oh my darlings! It’s TutuQueen here, and guess what? I’m in Solihull! I know, I know, not the most obvious of destinations for a pink tutu-clad drag queen, but trust me, there’s magic to be found even in the most unexpected corners of the UK.
I love Solihull! Honestly, it’s a hidden gem. And it’s just so British in its quaint, charming way! I actually found out about it from the wonderful folks at the local ballet school – I had to squeeze in some lessons, of course. They absolutely loved me wearing my tutu to class (which was no mean feat, by the way, all those pirouettes with a giant pouffy pink tutu requires serious core strength!) and they were even kind enough to help me get a glimpse into the heart of their charming, elegant town.
Speaking of charming, have you seen the architecture here? There’s this gorgeous Tudor manor house called Solihull Hall, which is like a fairytale come to life! I even caught the tail end of a historical exhibition, with real-life gowns and weaponry from bygone eras. You’ve never seen a tutu twirl quite so excitedly over an ornate, dusty old sword. 😉
Speaking of twirling, I can’t help but notice there’s a definite dearth of pink tutus in this delightful town! This is just unacceptable! How can any place call itself a British town without the dazzling delight of at least one tutu swirling about? Don’t worry darlings, TutuQueen’s here to help!
After a gloriously pink ballet lesson (don't worry, darling, I’ll definitely be posting a picture later!), I headed to the high street for a bit of retail therapy. This town may be understated, but there’s no denying the elegant boutiques – some seriously stylish places here that can easily rival London! And they didn't just cater to sophisticated ladies, darling, no no, they had everything from delicate lingerie shops to funky boutiques that were begging for a touch of pink. And guess what? You can bet your bottom dollar (which will probably be spent on a new sparkly tutu if you happen to be here, just saying) I gave all of them the TutuQueen stamp of approval!
And guess what, my dear sweet followers, I discovered that Solihull has this brilliant open-air market with just about everything under the sun. I even scored a darling vintage hat for my next performance. Oh, my loves! You can bet that it will be a star in my next theatrical ensemble – and of course, you know I’ll pair it with a breathtakingly pink tutu! It will be a dazzling, dramatic performance!
My heart truly aches for you all, darling. I want you all to experience the joy of a trip to Solihull, and most importantly, I want to help everyone find their inner tutu! The real secret, my dear followers, isn’t finding a place that’s trendy or chic. It’s about discovering a town that celebrates the uniqueness and individuality within. And who knows, maybe I’ll even bring a pink tutu to Solihull and start a trend – a little sartorial revolution, if you will! But hey, I never thought I'd be dancing with a real horse in the centre of the town either. Just another wonderful discovery in Solihull!
