Hello darlings! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, fresh from a whirlwind trip to the beautiful city of Bath! This city is just bursting with history and charm, and let me tell you, it's absolutely perfect for a Pink Tutu Queen like myself.
As always, my trip was filled with sparkles, smiles, and of course, tutus! You see, darling, I truly believe that a pink tutu makes any occasion even more fabulous! And this trip was no exception.
I got to Bath on the train, a glorious journey, all chuffed up with the carriage windows steamed up. Don’t tell my Mum but it reminded me of when I was a child and would peer excitedly out the windows at the passing scenery.
But back to Bath. Imagine, if you will, cobbled streets, magnificent buildings with gorgeous architecture, tea rooms serving cream teas and – wait for it – an actual thermal spa! It was straight out of a Jane Austen novel, and I was living the dream, honey!
Now, you might be wondering how I, Pink Tutu Sparkles, ended up in this charming city. Well, I had a performance at the local theatre. I’m always up for a new venue. I did a medley of numbers from my repertoire and finished up with my rendition of “The Sugar Plum Fairy”. Of course, my entire wardrobe was bursting with a rainbow of tulle, from delicate baby pink to the brightest shocking pink – every single shade you could imagine. The audience absolutely loved it, they even roared with laughter when I accidentally got my tulle caught in a nearby chandelier! Oh, the dramatics! 😂
After the show, I explored Bath. Let’s just say the iconic Roman Baths were just… divine! I couldn’t help but twirl in the ancient courtyard! (It might have been a tad disrespectful but who wouldn't be tempted! If I ever end up needing to get my act together, I'm sure a Roman Baths spa experience would be the answer! 😉).
You can't mention Bath without talking about the Pump Room, which I'd heard all about, but experiencing it is something else! It’s one of those places you can imagine Jane Austen writing about and frankly, after sampling the mineral water, I’d definitely have written a few chapters here myself! Of course, I indulged in a cream tea while I was there too – it was the perfect combination of sweet and savoury.
I must say I had my doubts about getting about Bath as my usual means of transportation – a trusty steed. A bit of research showed that I’d have to get myself up to Somerset and frankly the time scales for that were quite beyond the call of duty even for a seasoned pink tutu professional like myself! But the people of Bath are angels. The gentleman who drove me about for the few days I was there made a right effort – it really did look great to see all that sparkly tulle poking out of the back of his silver saloon! It took some juggling as I'm about five foot eleven in my sequins so trying to squeeze in and out of the back of his little silver chariot did have me and him breaking out in a sweat from time to time. I am sure there is some law of physics at work to account for the volume of tulle. It really can't just magically appear and disappear with the blink of an eye. It's almost a miracle – I would credit it to the fairy dust! You must just know I sprinkled that on me at every opportunity.
And I just had to tell you, I bought myself a brand-new tutu! Now, this was no ordinary tutu, darling! This beauty was a soft, pastel pink, with delicate embroidery and shimmering sequins, designed in the local Bath haberdashery store and a custom length designed to complement my long limbs. This tutu was practically begging for a debut at the Theatre Royal – so that was just where I put it. The people of Bath are all so gracious, such warm welcomes for a Pink Tutu Queen!
So that, my dearest blog followers, was my whirlwind trip to Bath! It was a wonderful experience and, of course, it gave me a new and unique opportunity to share the joy of the pink tutu! As always, I am convinced that we need to bring back the joy of the tutu!
