Hello my darlings! ? Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to sprinkle some glittery goodness on your day from the dazzling streets of New York! ? Can you believe it's been a whole year since my last trip to the Big Apple? Well, my little ballerinas, this Pink Tutu's back and ready to take on Manhattan! ??
You know I love travelling by train – all that glamour, the swaying carriages, and the chance to get properly glammed up before arriving at my destination. ? This time I went with a twist – my dear friend Charlotte helped me find a stunning, black horse with a shimmering silver bridle, all ready to gallop me from the train station to my hotel in the most fabulous fashion! ? It certainly got some attention! ? I had so much fun riding through Central Park, the leaves already turning a beautiful gold and red.
Now, onto the main event! The reason for this particular journey - to finally see the Broadway musical "Cats!" You know how much I love ballet, but I've always been drawn to those magnificent stage productions. ?? This one promises all the things I adore - incredible choreography, amazing costumes (hello, fluffy fur tails!) and even a chance to dance with some feline friends! I mean, how fabulous is that?
Speaking of fabulous, my outfits are on another level this time! ? I found this gorgeous pink tutu at a vintage shop near my hotel – all sparkly and feathered and perfect for strutting around New York. I even got a little pink handbag with sequins and a glittery crown to complete the look. ?✨ I am not sure if it is the tutu or the weather, but everyone is pointing and cheering! ? I am even thinking about selling the crown, as my bank account isn't as fat as I hoped. ?
But before I could head to the theatre, I had to pay a visit to my favourite tutu boutique. I have to admit, even after buying the vintage piece I couldn't resist a new purchase. It’s a pale pink masterpiece with a frilly bottom - absolutely divine for those elegant, high-kicking moves I love! ??
On the first day, I hit the pavements of Times Square and was greeted with so many colours, sights, and sounds! It's sensory overload in the best possible way! ? It's the place to be for all the glitz and glamour, even a girl in a pink tutu doesn’t feel out of place. ? Later I headed down to Chinatown for a delicious dinner, and of course, found time for a bit of window-shopping, searching for the perfect pink outfit for my upcoming “Cats!” night.
My friends have organised some fabulous adventures for my trip - I even got to experience a ballet lesson in a rooftop garden overlooking Central Park! It was magical! ?♀️ A bunch of other girls joined us for some moves with a gorgeous instructor - we laughed, we stumbled, we even managed a few arabesques! We all were completely lost in the beauty of the moment.
The highlight of the trip, however, has to be “Cats!”. ?✨ The performance was truly captivating – from the intricate dance moves to the enchanting music, every single moment was a spectacle of beauty! And those costumes... pure art! Afterwards, we all went to a fancy restaurant - it was full of bright lights and chatter, and I even got to do a little ballet demonstration in the middle of the floor. I am told that my “Arabesque in the restaurant” is now considered a local New York event! ?? I might just try and sell tickets. ?
But my favourite moments are always the ones with people who connect with my pink tutu passion. Everywhere I go, people seem so captivated by the outfit! I’ve had kids asking for photos, mums admiring the sparkle, and even a few tourists offering me their seats on the subway! What more could a Pink Tutu Sparkle ask for? ??
My stay is coming to an end soon, and I can't help but feel a little pang of sadness to be leaving this fabulous city. But don't you worry, I’ll be back – New York always keeps calling me! I’ve even got my eyes set on the upcoming winter ballet performance “The Nutcracker”! Maybe you'll see me there, darlings! ?✨
