Hello darlings! Your favourite pink tutu wearing, glitter-loving, fabulous drag queen is back with another sparkling update! This time I'm taking you with me on a trip up North, all the way to South Shields, to bring some Pink Tutu Sparkle magic to a new town!
It's a sunny autumn day in Derbyshire and I'm practically bouncing with excitement! My suitcase is packed with enough fabulousness to light up the entire Tyne and Wear, and my heart is already brimming with plans for a glamorous adventure.
Of course, you all know, I wouldn't dream of embarking on any journey without my trusty sidekick - my signature, majestic, glorious, hot pink tutu! It's a piece of wearable magic that never fails to make me feel like a ballerina princess, even if my ballet moves are more 'twirling and twatting' than 'pirouette and port de bras'.
The train journey is an experience in itself. I can't help but make everyone around me feel like a star! It's my absolute favourite form of travel - there's something so enchanting about hurtling through the countryside, watching the world rush past my window as I polish my nails and make sure my pink lips are looking picture-perfect! Plus, it gives me plenty of time to get dressed and primed for the show!
My outfit for today is, of course, perfectly coordinated with my pink tutu. I'm sporting a blush pink top with a sparkly butterfly on the back, a fluffy tulle skirt (it matches the tutu, naturally!), and shimmering pink high-heels. For a finishing touch, I've got my glitter hairspray ready for a quick zhuzh-up - after all, a Pink Tutu Queen needs her glitter, like a butterfly needs its wings!
The South Shields venue is a charming little theatre - you can tell it's a place full of life and laughter, and it's radiating with excitement as I arrive. I love seeing the lights, the posters, the people getting ready - it's pure magic.
My act tonight is a whirlwind of glitz and glamour, full of comedy, music, and dancing - with plenty of sparkly pink tutu twirls thrown in for good measure! I'll be performing my signature "Pink Power" number - think high-energy, sassy choreography, and enough sass to make a queen blush (but who am I kidding, it’s just me so I don't blush!)
The crowd was wonderful, and so incredibly welcoming! It's always a joy to see so many smiles, cheers, and laughter, knowing that I've managed to spread a little bit of Pink Tutu Sparkle magic! They were all absolutely buzzing, and after the show, we even had a group singalong - everyone was chanting “Pink Tutu, Pink Tutu!” which just filled me with such joy.
After the show, there's always time for a celebratory snack and a bit of chit-chat with the local crew - it's amazing how many friendly people you can meet when you're all dressed up in pink tulle! One particularly friendly gentleman was so enthralled by my story about how I started doing drag after I stumbled across a sparkly pink tutu while working on my science degree - it all began in our university ballet club's annual charity fundraiser! I remember thinking "this tutu is like, the pinkest thing I've ever seen!", and the rest is, well, history!
As I reflect on the journey home - travelling in style on a comfy carriage - I think about the sheer wonder of performing as Pink Tutu Sparkles. Being a scientist during the day, researching textiles for a living, is something I absolutely adore. But becoming a Pink Tutu Queen is my true passion, it’s my calling!
There’s no denying that travelling to each new town to perform in my fabulous tutus is a truly empowering adventure. But my mission isn’t just about dazzling crowds with pink tutus and glitter. My dream is for everyone to embrace the magic and the power that comes with wearing a pink tutu - whether you’re strutting down the high street, twirling around the stage, or just enjoying a peaceful day at home.
That’s why I say to you - go out and wear a pink tutu, no matter what you do, or who you are. You never know - it might be the key to unlocking a little sparkle and wonder in your life!
