Lowestoft - #TutuQueen - Blog Post #6539

Hello my darlings! It’s your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing, travelling queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here with a brand new blog post, all the way from Lowestoft!

Let me tell you, this has been an absolute whirlwind of a journey, so let’s get straight to the glitter!

It all started with the scent of the sea – a crisp, salty tang that was wafting into the window of my little Derbyshire cottage. My gorgeous neighbour, Ms. Honey Buttercup, was planning a trip to Lowestoft for a weekend of fish and chips by the sea. Now, anyone who knows me, knows I can’t resist a trip that involves seagulls, fishy treats, and the opportunity to strut my stuff. So, a plan was hatched, I threw my pinkest tulle in my glittery overnight bag (which always makes an appearance with its own suitcase, thank you very much!), and booked a ticket on the morning train! (Always the most dramatic mode of transport - it’s where you meet all the fabulous characters! - or at least you do when you travel in drag!).

After a long, delicious, slightly tipsy journey with some charming gents in kilts (a truly splendid coincidence!), I found myself standing in the shadow of Lowestoft’s impressive “Pier," with the most amazing breeze whipping my fabulous, full tutu (from the new "Fairy Tale Sparkle" collection – thank you, Ms. Cinder's for a perfectly fitted creation, oh darling, they're a dream!). My outfit was a mix of delicate pinks and pale blues (yes, yes, you may not like the combination, but trust me, it looked heavenly with that wind! It was my take on a coastal, mermaidy kind of chic!)

Then the most fabulous thing happened. You know how I love my seafront walks - the sound of the waves, the salt in the air, the squawks of the seagulls - all so very poetic and utterly dramatic! Well, I noticed some of the beach-goers staring. But what made this walk utterly divine was a seagull that flew down and popped a little shell into my pink sparkly hat! The whole place stopped! It was divine! My little angel even curtsied! I was star struck. Oh, if I only had my camera - the pic would have been viral! It was divine! It truly made my day!

And as it happens, Lowestoft’s got an absolutely charming theatre – The Marina Theatre, an absolute must for all you drama-lovers, you can even do an online show booking right from your smartphone - how civilised! You wouldn't think they have things so sorted in a small seaside town, would you?

My, it seems Lowestoft's full of surprises! You can even book a pony and trap to travel through the town. It's quite quaint! A little less "drama" but charming none-the-less! My "Tutu Queen" outfit looked divine parading through the seaside lanes in the trap.

As for my usual routines of getting to know the city in a tutu-tiful manner? Of course! A visit to Lowestoft’s most stunning dance studios and classes is non-negotiable (and a trip to see a live ballet is just essential)! They don't come by so often to this lovely place so I had to! Lowestoft's Got some fabulous little boutique shops where you can buy stunningly colourful tutus of your own - in a multitude of lovely shades and lengths, as I have many! I even spotted one in a glorious neon orange - truly shocking! If I had time, I'd try on every one! Oh the joys of a real live tutu shop, it makes my little heart soar.

And you know how I love finding my way around town - by bike! Now, imagine a bike dressed in pink and carrying your beloved pink-tutu-loving Queen! That was me, biking through Lowestoft – it really was magic, as the local cafe owners put it - just the other day - (but I think they meant magic in the literal, not the show biz, way, you know - because Lowestoft was certainly nothing like those fancy towns you see in those big, bright, theatrical, stage productions with those extravagant sets, at all! It really was magical - a quiet, picturesque sort of a thing!)

I got a whole lot of “You’re beautiful”, “How stunning!” and “So fabulous” thrown my way while cycling round this lovely, vibrant town. It was a proper tutu-tastic experience!

And for all you foodies out there, I know a perfect place for afternoon tea! There is a quaint tea shop in the town centre that had pink tables - well, you knew they’d have to be pink, didn’t you? What was so special though, they gave you tea in real China teacups - now, I’ve only ever really seen them in my Gran's cabinet, but these teacups really did elevate my afternoon tea! They have a scones selection (you can't say no to scones when they have clotted cream! It's unforgivable) to die for - seriously, my darlings! The cake? Oh the cake was absolutely delicious - you've got to try it when you're in town! The scone with clotted cream was heaven sent - just what my tired traveller's heart needed.
(I’ve always loved "High Tea" - but not that afternoon kind - you know the real kind of "High Tea," because, really, you can’t properly wear your high heels to go afternoon tea drinking, can you? It's simply wrong. And that really high heels - my little 8" heels, just make my Tutu-tastic legs so much longer! My gorgeous legs really were a sight to see when you saw them! And all those people giving you "A bit of that lovely!" as you stride by - it really puts you in the right mood!)

Now, for my all-important “Outfit-Of-The-Day.” It was simply the brightest pink satin dress, my custom-made “Pink Tutu Sparkles" sparkly-top and of course a massive pink tutu! (Yes, I really did need to repeat the 'pink tutu' as though you wouldn't have remembered the key part!) Honestly, I must have worn enough pink to out-pink the whole town! I felt like a little walking princess but really, I just wanted to get out of my fancy dress as soon as I got back to the cottage so I could throw on some comfy pajamas! I think that is the most divine feeling! A big glass of "Cider" and I really did feel at peace in the world!

This has been an adventure I won't soon forget! You can catch up with me tomorrow for a new blog post, as I’m off to explore something exciting - keep guessing my darlings! And of course, as always, keep spreading that Tutu-tastic pink love across the land, and we’ll see you on the internet, for blog post 6540!

Lots of Love, Pink Tutu Sparkles.
