Hello darlings, and welcome to my little corner of the internet! Today, I'm positively buzzing with excitement. As you all know, I'm a girl who loves a bit of a good old adventure, and let me tell you, my trip to Rugby was quite the adventure indeed!

Now, I'm a Derbyshire lass through and through, and I wouldn't swap my county for the world. But every so often, it's just lovely to see what's going on further afield, and that's exactly what I did. This week, I swapped my trusty train for a horse (don't worry, I had a driver!) and journeyed out to the bustling town of Rugby - home of the iconic rugby ball!

I know what you're thinking - rugby and a pink tutu-clad queen? What a strange combination! But listen, darlings, I believe in breaking stereotypes, and I want everyone to feel empowered to embrace their own individuality, regardless of what anyone else thinks. And who better to show the world that than a queen who wears a pink tutu?

I love travelling to places with history and culture, and Rugby truly delivered. My adventure started with a visit to the Rugby School Museum, the birthplace of the game. It's one of those places where you can just feel the history swirling around you, and let me tell you, it truly captivated me. Even without my own personal rugby history, I couldn’t help but be enchanted by the stories of rugby greats.

Taking on Rugby, One Tutu Step at a Time

Of course, a trip to Rugby wouldn't be complete without witnessing the magic of the sport itself! Now, I must admit, I'm not the most knowledgeable about rugby. I'm more accustomed to the elegance and grace of ballet (although I wouldn’t say no to a good game of ‘rugger’ from time to time!) But seeing those incredible athletes put their bodies on the line was a sight to behold. They’re such strong and athletic people - a complete opposite to my dainty persona but I love to appreciate strength in others!

For my evening entertainment, I performed at the iconic Rugby School - what an experience! The energy was electrifying, and I could tell that the audience was really loving the show. Even the toughest rugby player couldn’t resist the glitter and sass! The highlight, of course, was when I invited everyone to join me in a round of ‘Tutu Time’. Let me tell you, seeing those sturdy, athletic guys swirling in tutus was something I won't forget. I mean, I do live by my philosophy - it’s not about what you look like, it’s about how you carry yourself. And when you carry a pink tutu with pride, there's nothing more empowering!

Now, I must say that Rugby wasn't all about rugby (shocking, I know!) I made sure to delve into some of the town's other fascinating cultural attractions, like the fascinating Warwickshire Museum of Science and Technology. As someone who loves a good scientific exploration (hello, science degree!), I couldn’t help but love exploring the world of scientific breakthroughs and innovative inventions.

But don't you worry, my dears. A pink tutu wearing queen wouldn’t let herself go too far down the scientific route! To balance the science with some pure sparkle and beauty, I popped over to the town's exquisite Victorian shopping arcade - just picture quaint shops, elegant window displays, and charming, winding alleys. Honestly, my fashionista heart skipped a beat when I saw the glorious vintage clothing stores, all promising treasures just waiting to be discovered. Of course, I had to treat myself to a few pieces for my wardrobe! I am a queen who appreciates an old, stylish classic.

Taking a (Fashionable) Bow

All in all, Rugby was just a little slice of paradise, darlings. It was a whirlwind of culture, sport, fashion, and good old-fashioned fun. What a joy to bring a little bit of sparkle and a whole lotta pink to a place where it may not always be expected. And it wasn’t just about making my fabulous outfit be seen – It's all about sending the message to anyone and everyone, ‘wear that tutu, embrace the glitter and dance to the beat of your own drum.’ It was a beautiful reminder that embracing who you are - tutus and all - is a truly inspiring thing.

Of course, no Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure would be complete without a bit of self-reflection. Travelling and getting out of my comfort zone is something I hold very close to my heart. While wearing a pink tutu and sparkling in a theatrical manner is part of who I am, It’s a constant reminder that underneath the glitter, I am just Alex - the science nerd with a dream. I believe we can always find beauty and wonder in our lives if we are willing to be a little adventurous. It's a good reminder to us all, no matter what kind of sparkle we have inside. Whether you’re gracing the red carpet in a couture dress, swirling through life in a bright pink tutu, or even running an experiment in a laboratory, I believe that each of us has a unique spark to share with the world. So let it shine bright!

And now, dears, I must be off. There’s a train to catch, some fabrics to analyse in the lab, and a fair in Derby tomorrow night! I promise to update you all on my next adventure, full of tutus, laughter, and love,

Until then, keep shining bright, and don’t forget:
“Wear it with confidence. Sparkle with pride. And always remember, it’s not about what you wear – It's about how you carry yourself."

Lots of love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
