Tutu-tastic Acton! #6559

Hello darlings! It's your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and I'm bursting with excitement to tell you all about my fabulous trip to Acton! It’s the first time I’ve been to Acton but oh darling, it won’t be my last! It’s so quirky and different and charming. It was positively magical, with its cobbled streets, and lovely vintage shops filled with vintage clothing! And naturally, I had to pop into every one of them, don’t you know! 😉

You might remember last week I wrote all about being a drag queen, but being in a lab all day just doesn't satisfy my sartorial needs! Don’t worry, darlings, because when the lab is closed, I don't just throw on my sequins and run – although you’d think I did with my fast turnaround! You know me – a little rehearsal, some make-up, a wig – and bingo!

It was so exciting! Acton felt so vibrant and eclectic. I don’t want to make assumptions but the crowds looked super trendy in their vintage finery. Oh, my darling, I practically saw more outfits that looked like they were straight out of a theatre performance than I ever have seen before, in all the years I’ve been rocking a tutu on the stage.

It all began so gloriously – just me, my fab little pink rucksack filled with my tutu and make-up, the beautiful train, and the sunshine dancing off the carriage window. You know that wonderful sensation you get when you're going on a journey. A sense of adventure! And as usual, it was impossible to resist the charming and friendly carriage attendants – they even got a photo of me by the window! It’s on Instagram - do have a look - “PinkTutuSparklesActonTravel” - the hashtags are just #tutuadorable #tututime #pinktututrip. My pink tutus always make a real statement when you're out and about. Just you wait for the pictures. They’re the perfect backdrop for your everyday selfies.

Just thinking about Acton and that gorgeous trip puts a smile on my face. Everything was so wonderful about the whole experience. And my, what fabulous theatre in Acton! It's a complete surprise! My journey started so early on a Wednesday morning that the sun barely had a chance to wake up. Even though I hadn't really slept properly because I was too busy preparing – the glitter and jewels always take longer than I expect, you know?– there was a twinkle in my eyes when I stepped onto the platform. Oh my darling, you just have to try wearing a tutu, it makes everything much more fun! But I always pack my pink raincoat, it never fails to be raining somewhere!

Well, after a fun morning exploring all the vintage shops I stopped for a cheeky afternoon tea at a beautiful hotel near the station. Tea, pastries, a perfectly brewed pot, and, of course, my trusty pink tutu, you know how it is - you have to bring your fashion to any event! The staff loved it, it’s true! They all gasped and then giggled at my arrival and the sheer elegance of my bright pink tulle. They’re used to pink dresses, they said – one of them was actually called Dorothy. She’d be very disappointed with herself if she hadn’t spotted my perfect pink tutu! The scones were delicious and so fresh - so fresh that you just knew that Dorothy's own two hands had prepared them that very morning. I really felt a kindred spirit there – my fabulous little pink tutu, tea and scones with friends. And the gorgeous surroundings of a beautiful hotel. My journey to Acton began so wonderfully!

This town had a secret that I just couldn't wait to uncover – I had read that a lot of films are filmed here - you see, darling, I adore the silver screen and seeing all the stars! A fabulous mix of vintage chic and modern trends – who doesn't love seeing how other fabulous people dress and strut around, eh? And darling, the theatre! It was beautiful. All the theatre's details really caught my attention. This trip was very special - my little Pink Tutu Sparkles was practically bouncing in her stilettos. Oh, darling! And of course, I had to capture it all on film and Instagram - what's a Queen without some good visual evidence? You see it’s so important to share the beauty of the world! Oh darling, I even had time to have my make-up done at a fabulous makeup shop in town and a little window-shopping for the most perfect glittery pink ballet shoes – but oh my, what are you doing here – you’re losing the plot. Come back!

There I was - feeling glamorous as I took my place in the balcony, tutu and all! It was, darling, a really intimate setting – a lovely atmosphere. I even spotted a fabulous pink-loving lady in the crowd next to me who really seemed to enjoy my flamboyant outfit, she giggled! And oh darling, I met her, a wonderful woman with a fabulous sense of humour - what's the best part about a trip? I hear you ask – well, let’s just say I loved having my photo taken in the theatre bar with this special new friend! Well, you'll just have to have a little gander at my photos – on Instagram naturally – I even captured some snippets of the ballet on video! #tutucute #pinktututime

You see, a new pink tutu can completely change my whole outlook! That night I couldn't have been more pleased with myself – all the excitement, a wonderful ballet show, some time spent making new friends in a beautiful theatre. You know how I like to celebrate so naturally a cheeky bottle of pink fizz was called for, back in my fabulous little hotel room – so chic and perfect. I even managed to squeeze in some fun. I popped in to the local bar in my little pink outfit, my stilettos clacked as I strolled through the door and wow! What a fab place to stop and listen to some beautiful local talent – what I call the authentic local vibes!

But oh my darling, this has all got a little bit off track - haven't you heard that the new theatre is really glamorous and trendy. Darling, it's very chic indeed! In a place that has been designed so perfectly. My visit really was a dream - full of pink tulle, excitement and happiness! Oh, I so nearly forgot! Remember that time, all those years ago when I had to leave my childhood home? In those early days, as I moved from Derby to Leeds for my studies. And what did I do? I even wore a tutu to my graduation ceremony! My Mum and Dad looked so pleased. But all those years ago, I knew in my heart – you just need a little pink tutu for every situation, darling. You can wear them wherever you like – and trust me they go perfectly well with everything. The perfect combination of ballet elegance and feminine charm. I did study a science degree, remember - and did all the coursework. The science of colour and what looks amazing when you add pink to it is one I’ve learnt from experience and all those times I've worn pink – even in a science lab – oh my! I wouldn’t swap my science degree for the world. Now darling, I know you can all see why Acton is just perfect for a day out – but really – it’s a place you can always spend more time exploring and enjoying! So darling, tell me everything you love to see in your fabulous local towns! Oh, don’t be shy. We love to see a vibrant colourful and confident community. And remember, all the fun things to see and do in your little town, village, city or even a big glamorous metropolis all over the world! What have you spotted recently? Remember - I want to hear all about it. Remember my little blog posts - the joy of sharing my adventures – but you don’t have to go all the way to Acton to discover new and fabulous adventures in your town or even down your local high street.

I always believe, darling, there’s always a little bit of magic and charm right there, wherever you are - and the people who make your town tick! Remember, be bold, wear a tutu – it's so easy to get creative with a simple ballet-inspired garment. All you need to do is remember that everything is possible, and don't forget to live your life in pink!

That’s it for today darling. If you are reading this then please take a few minutes to visit my fabulous website - I love seeing your feedback and knowing I have spread my joy all over the world! Until next time my lovelies.
