Bangor Bound: TutuQueen Travels! (Post #6563)

Hey loves! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another blog post straight from the heart of... Bangor!

You know I absolutely adore travelling. The train journeys are just magical – so much better than planes! Plus, trains are super convenient, and it's such a treat to have a hot chocolate from the trolley while admiring the stunning landscapes whizzing past the window. Sometimes, though, a bit of a countryside horseback ride makes it to my "perfect travel" list. There's nothing like feeling the wind in your hair and the thrill of riding alongside nature.

And Bangor is no exception! This stunning little town has absolutely captivated me. I love the quirky little shops, the gorgeous park, the buzzing atmosphere, and let's not forget – all the incredible venues I get to grace with my pink tutus. Speaking of tutus, my darling readers, I must share with you all this latest sensation that I've discovered here: the most glorious vintage boutique crammed with incredible frocks! And do you know what I spotted tucked away on a top shelf? A shimmering, perfectly-preserved, vintage pink tutu! The heavens opened and an angel choir sang. Of course, I snatched it up like it was the last slice of pink velvet cake in the whole world. Can you tell I love all things pink?!

I must share this – when I tell people that my "day job" is a scientist, they usually think it’s totally different from my glamorous night-time persona. Well, you’d be surprised! As a textile scientist, I’m all about experimenting with different materials and analysing fabric performance. And who better to test the wear and tear of a tutu than your queen, right?! But honestly, let's get back to the pink and sparkle, shall we? Because it’s been a wild week, darlings!

Pink Tutu Sparkles Makes Bangor Bloom!

So, my darling readers, I’m here in Bangor, in the most incredible old theatre, the perfect setting for a fab drag performance! I've just completed my third performance this week - three completely different venues, three different shows, three different outfits! But hey, what’s life without a good costume change? Oh, and don’t forget the feather boas! I never travel without at least a couple of them – they really add the ‘oomph’ factor to any look!

First stop, a delightful village fair! We had crowds gathered round, clapping their hands to the rhythm of my latest tune. There was a little girl in a floral dress, she held up her hand, “I like your tutu!” she squealed! That's how I do it – spreading the tutu love one child at a time. It was a truly uplifting performance - you just knew everyone was feeling the spirit of pink tutu sparkle!

Next, I sashayed my way into a charity fundraising event – always good to give back! The people there were amazing. I had everyone up dancing – we've got to bring some glitter to all aspects of life, don't we? The place was packed – you wouldn’t believe the amount of sequins on that dance floor! We even got some great footage for my new TikTok - keep an eye out for it. I’m pretty sure I just created the ultimate tutus-and-disco-dancing trend!

But wait, there's more! Tonight is the grand finale – the grand theatre itself! The most beautiful venue, darling. The air itself crackles with anticipation, and you just know the audience is ready to be charmed by a little bit of pink magic.

From Lab Coats to Sparkly Outfits!

You see, darling, being a drag queen is so much more than wearing glitter and sequins. It’s about expression. It's about creativity. It’s about pushing boundaries and celebrating all the beautiful things life has to offer, from shimmering gowns to the softest, fluffiest tutus! It’s all about confidence. And to me, wearing a pink tutu is an act of rebellion!

I was actually studying for my science degree when it all started, back in my home county of Derbyshire, the birthplace of the famous Chatsworth House! Can you believe that I had never actually tried on a tutu until one night at a charity event for a local ballet group. Well, I tried it on, looked in the mirror, and boom! A queen was born.

And I can honestly say that performing is the thing that makes my life complete. I mean, who wouldn't be overjoyed by the power of music, of movement, of expressing oneself in such a beautiful way! I love being on stage. It's like being a magical fairy, spinning rainbows and glittering laughter all around the world. It’s magic, and I’m determined to spread that magic wherever I go!

Let’s Talk Tutu!

Darling, you know I’m obsessed with all things tutu – it's almost a disease, you know, just like my love for the colour pink! And I can't wait to tell you all about the newest TutuQueen trends – my latest find in this Bangor boutique, my collection of colourful boas, even my secret tips for sewing the most fabulous tutus! But before I reveal all, tell me, darling, what’s your favourite colour? Do you have a signature shade you wear on special occasions? Tell me everything, as always, in the comments below!

And please remember, if you’re ever feeling down or unsure about yourself, channel your inner Pink Tutu Sparkles! You've got the sparkle, so let it shine through! And if you're really looking to up your style game, a pink tutu just might be the key. Who knows? You might even start a trend yourself!

Keep shining, darling!

Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
