As you know, I’m all about spreading the pink tutu love wherever I go, and Taunton is no exception! I've got my latest creation ready, a glorious hot pink tulle explosion that even the most jaded theatre critic will swoon over.
But first, let me tell you about my journey. Oh darling, the train journey was a real treat! It took me a good few hours from Derbyshire (my home county, don’t you know!), but I didn't mind. It gave me ample time to peruse my new pink velvet handbag and admire the exquisite feather boa I’m planning to use in tonight's performance. I was wearing, of course, a tutu, a fluffy pastel pink one with little, shimmering diamantés - perfect for a day of travel, don't you think? I always say, you never know who you're going to bump into on the train! You could be inspiring a whole carriage of commuters to don pink tulle themselves!
Speaking of inspiring, remember how I told you I was inspired to wear pink tutus by a charity event at my university, the one where I tried on a fluffy pink tulle dream and was transformed into the glittering, flamboyant goddess you see before you today? 👑 Well, I also credit the university for my love of the arts. The ballet club was my second home. Those late nights learning graceful arabesques, the intoxicating aroma of stage makeup backstage, and the joyous laughter at the Christmas performances... these are some of the things that shaped me. It’s funny to think, from a lab in my lab coat to the stage, from science to sequins… it's a bit of a leap, but I love every moment of it!
Now, you’ve all been asking what’s happening in Taunton, and I must say, the anticipation is buzzing! This venue, a quaint theatre called The Brewhouse, is tucked away in a charming corner of the town. They've been so excited about my performance that they’ve even decked out the whole place in pink! There are pink lights on the trees outside, the usherettes are wearing pink ribbon badges, and they even managed to procure a box of those delectable pink doughnuts. It's like walking into a dream… a pink, glittery dream, of course!
Tonight's show is called "Tutu Tale: The Tale of Two Towns," where I journey from the elegant ballrooms of Derbyshire to the buzzing streets of Taunton, all the while showcasing the stories of everyday folk who've had their lives touched by the transformative power of tutus. Expect a heartwarming performance full of laughs, sequins, and, of course, some dazzling pink tutu twirls!
I even planned my wardrobe for the event – my makeup, my hair (with the most exquisite pink feather extensions, you haven’t seen the likes of them!), my stage-worthy sparkly outfits, and of course, the crown jewel – my pink tutus! The excitement is simply bubbling over, so forgive me, my dears, I’m going to take this opportunity to slip into my pink dressing gown and have a nice, relaxing hot chocolate while my fabulous team takes care of the last minute details.
