Ruislip, Here I Come! 💖🩰

Hello lovelies, and welcome to Pink-Tutu.com! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing, ballet-loving queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles here! This is blog post number 6569, and it's a very special one, as you'll soon find out.

The weather is crisp, the festive season is in full swing, and this week, I'm taking my sparkle to the suburbs of London! Yes, I'm heading to Ruislip - you'll be seeing loads of pictures of my outfit (of course), plus I might just reveal my secret Ruislip foodie discovery. 🤫

Now, before I reveal all, let's talk about how I got here. You know how much I love travelling, and I try to get out and about as much as I can. Luckily, performing as a drag queen can be incredibly versatile – it's not just the nightclubs and big stages you know, although those are fun! I’m often in local pubs, village halls, and even doing family friendly performances at country fairs. 🎪 It's all part of the magic, and it means I get to experience all sorts of amazing places.

This time, I'm travelling by train - one of my absolute favourites! It's the most comfortable way to go on long journeys, especially if you pack your suitcase with enough glittery tulle to last a week! My travelling companion for the journey is a fluffy toy rabbit I found at a charity shop (pink, of course), so it's no surprise he’s called "Pink Bunny". 🐇 Don’t worry, you’ll be seeing plenty of him too. We always make sure to get a window seat, to watch the world go by – well, I do. Bunny's got no eyes, silly!

Now, back to Ruislip!

Ruislip is an exciting little corner of West London. I'm here to spread some Pink Tutu magic, performing at a Christmas Eve event at a lovely theatre – I think it’s actually a proper Victorian one, complete with velvet curtains! Speaking of Christmas Eve, I know you're all looking for inspiration for those festive outfits! Let me tell you – glitter and sparkle are NEVER off limits, even at a Christmas gathering. A splash of red, gold or green is never a bad idea, and a tulle skirt, especially in pink of course, can always turn an outfit from ‘blah’ to 'B*lletin'. 🩰

So, where else am I going in Ruislip? I’m going to share some top secret recommendations – stay tuned! 🤫

What else can I tell you about myself, besides my obsession with tutus and all things pink? You know I love a good ballet show, but did you know I love a ballet class just as much? (It really helps me hone those skills). I'm thinking of bringing in a special ballet feature into my blog soon – what do you think, dear readers? Should we talk more about ballet, what’s your favourite move, and the latest in dance shoes? 🩰 Let me know in the comments, and let’s have some ballet chat!

Now, for the important part: why are we doing all this? Why are we sharing a passion for ballet, colour, and sparkle? Well, I believe everyone should have a little Pink Tutu magic in their lives. 💖 It's about embracing your true self, being brave, and feeling joyful. It's about being different, being unique, and expressing yourself freely. It’s also about inspiring everyone to feel confident and beautiful, whether you’re wearing a fluffy pink tutu or not.

So, join me as I navigate this beautiful world in my pink tutu! We’ll talk travel, fashion, life, dance, food and everything in between!

Remember, it’s never too late to add a touch of magic and sparkle to your life – I can’t wait to hear from you all!

*(PS – did I tell you that I'm secretly a scientist in a lab? Yes, it’s true! By day I'm testing fabric, and by night I’m twirling across stages in a tutu. Who knew science could be so glamorous?) *

My Day in Ruislip

Right, let's catch up on the events in Ruislip! You know the drill - outfit, fun, food. It was all there.

First off, I have to give you the rundown of my attire. Pink, as always, was the theme of the day! A dazzling pink tulle tutu with a shimmery pink crop top and some bedazzled platform trainers – all tied together with a gorgeous hot pink feather boa!

Walking around the quaint little town of Ruislip, everyone seemed surprised to see such a fabulous sight – I loved their wide-eyed stares! You can see the excitement when you enter the "pink zone" with that kind of style. I even encountered a little girl in a princess dress who seemed absolutely mesmerized by the twirling, feathered brilliance of it all. 😊 I mean, come on, how could you not be?!

Our first stop in Ruislip was the local library, yes, the library! You see, this pink-tutu-loving girl is an avid reader and loves finding cute little cafes attached to local libraries. The staff were so welcoming, and the selection of books was great. But the real treasure? The cakes! There was this amazing strawberry cake, topped with cream, perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up. 🍰 Oh, and just between us… I saw someone in a cute little tutu reading the book “The Art of Being Pink". 💖 You'll have to find out what it's about for yourself!

Later in the day, we had the honour of dining at an old, family-run Italian restaurant that had delicious pasta and a really charming atmosphere! Their pesto pasta is legendary - everyone has to go try it if you find yourself in the area. I don’t eat carbs – they’re like glitter, they just stay on you! 😉

I always think of Italy as the heart of style - what would we do without our Italian style icons? My favourite looks? Anything bright and fun - bold colours are a must-have, think Dolce and Gabbana but with a tutu vibe! 👗

Then, finally, came the magical moment of the evening: the theatre performance. The old, ornate theatre was just as I imagined, complete with its vintage stage and faded velvet curtains. The lights went down, the music started, and the stage was illuminated – ready for a night of glitter, sparkle, and all-round entertainment.

Before my show, I had a little fun exploring the theater itself. They even had a secret back room full of all sorts of props and old stage sets! I swear, there was a whole row of fabulous vintage hats, each one more extravagant than the next, I could only imagine what stories they could tell! 🎩

For my performance, I was a bit of a rock star! You know, that whole ‘80s, big hair, pink glitter thing? Oh yeah, I had the audience completely captivated. We had singing, dancing, some pretty fancy tutus, and lots of laughter – the kind of show everyone could enjoy! 💖 It was so much fun, and I definitely want to come back and do it again, possibly next Christmas Eve!

You know what’s been really great? It seems like Ruislip is becoming more pink-tutu-friendly. The shop owners seem delighted to see a bit of fun around, and even the local policeman told me I’d made their day! 🤩 So, let’s hope they keep welcoming all the glitter and rainbows.

You know I love discovering a new city – you learn so much, about the area itself, but about your own limits too. We all have boundaries, sometimes those are the ones you should step over. It’s great to see that this town isn’t shy about showing some pink tutu sparkle.

Looking Ahead - Ballet Bliss & New York Dreams

I’m so happy I shared the trip to Ruislip with you. It’s always a good reminder that it’s never too late to find magic and colour, whatever part of the world you’re in. And, you never know where the pink tutu magic will lead you next.

So, what's on the horizon? Well, my fellow tutu enthusiasts, I have some exciting news! This coming week, I’ll be heading back to Derbyshire. It's time for a visit to my family – and more importantly, I’m planning a surprise for my mom. I might be the biggest pink tutu advocate on the planet, but I reckon Mom’s close, even if she’ll never admit it.

There are also lots of fun things in store. I’m looking forward to finally doing a special post about ballet - a complete deep dive on everything dance, from how to choose the best shoes to some inspiring ballet films for your next night in! 💖 Let me know in the comments, what do you want to hear about?

Finally, it's been such a crazy and rewarding year - but there's always a big goal ahead - it’s a dream that keeps getting bigger!

The New York City Ballet! 🩰

My absolute favourite - it’s the heart of ballet in the US, and I can't even imagine how wonderful it would be to perform on that stage, dressed in a pink tutu! So, next year - let’s make it happen! 💖 I need to be there, and I can’t do it without all of you!

Let’s bring a whole world of pink tutu magic to New York! What do you think, lovelies?

Leave a comment with your thoughts!

Until next time,

💖 💖 💖
