Royal Tunbridge Wells: Tutu Time! 🩰💖

Hey darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the stunning Royal Tunbridge Wells! Can you believe it’s December already? Time just flies when you’re busy twirling in a tutu, wouldn’t you say?

This is post number 6571 for my lovely little blog here on www.pink-tutu.com, and it’s been an absolute joy to be back on the road, bringing a splash of pink to the world, one tutu at a time!

This week's adventure took me to the charming, cobbled streets of Royal Tunbridge Wells, which felt like a step back in time! It's all so quaint and elegant, and it absolutely fits with my “Pink Tutu” aesthetic – if you can't wear pink in a town this pretty, then where can you? It's just made for twirling!

This was a very special journey because it marked my first-ever trip by horse! Now, I’m a huge fan of the train – it's a lovely way to see the countryside and daydream while admiring the view – but I’ve always felt that galloping through a field on horseback would just be so utterly fabulous! And with a stunning sunset backdrop as I arrived in Royal Tunbridge Wells, it truly was everything I imagined and more!

I managed to charm a friendly local gentleman into sharing his steed for the journey - turns out he’s a fellow ballet aficionado and was as thrilled to meet a tutu-loving queen like me as I was to meet him! I wouldn't tell you all the details of how much he had to pay me to get a ride on his gorgeous bay but, let’s just say, it was worth it! He even gave me a riding hat that matched my tutu – truly a man of taste!

Of course, I couldn’t visit a town known for its spa without indulging in some pampering, so I enjoyed a wonderful aromatherapy session at the famous spa hotel. A bit of relaxation was much needed after the long journey - the aroma of lavender and the warm water definitely helped with my sore muscles, even though, being a scientific mind, I couldn't resist asking the therapist for the chemical structure of lavender! Luckily, she found it just as amusing as I did!

No trip to Royal Tunbridge Wells would be complete without a visit to the iconic Pantiles – what a perfect name for a place dedicated to my beloved tutus! The beautiful promenade was simply buzzing with life and energy, full of vibrant shops and charming cafes – truly the perfect place to scout out new inspiration for my outfits!

After I finished my shopping, I indulged in the most delightful cream tea I’ve ever had - a fluffy scone, clotted cream and lashings of jam! If I'm honest, I did make a slight faux pas - in my excitement to snap a picture of this amazing creation, I ended up accidentally getting a bit of clotted cream on my tutu… a slight mess, but it did provide me with an amazing photo for my Instagram - the pink tulle against the cream, absolutely divine!

Royal Tunbridge Wells has a truly impressive art scene, so of course, I couldn’t resist a visit to the Assembly Hall Theatre – an architectural masterpiece which holds some truly magical memories. In fact, I remember it from my ballet days, way back when! I was lucky enough to see a breathtaking production of “Swan Lake” here – it really was one of the most memorable nights of my life. It's where my love affair with ballet really started to blossom. It’s just such a romantic, magical story, and I could still feel the passion in that iconic white tutu as I stepped inside again – all the memories came flooding back!

But it wasn’t all fancy tea parties and ballet memories for Pink Tutu Sparkles this time. I had some pretty epic performances to catch up on too!

My first gig was at the annual Christmas fair – what a whirlwind! I found myself spinning and twirling in my vibrant pink tutu amidst all the stalls overflowing with Christmas delights. I even managed to get the local mayor involved in a conga line! Oh, how they loved my little tutu shimmy, even the little kids were entranced. Let’s just say the crowd was pretty entertained by the unexpected splash of sparkle, which led to a pretty impromptu impromptu show. You know me - I always like to create a little sparkle wherever I go!

I really did feel like a true Pink Tutu Princess this week – especially as I graced the stage at the "Sparkles and Twirls" event at the Tunbridge Wells Forum – a beautiful space, perfect for some glittering entertainment! What an absolutely glorious evening it was! I couldn’t have asked for a better audience – so supportive and welcoming, I could feel the magic in the air! My performance? Let's just say the audience went absolutely wild! My pink tutus have never looked more amazing and the choreography was just simply divine! All those years in the university ballet club really paid off.

After the performance, I caught a glimpse of my reflection in the dressing room mirror. Honestly, it just reminded me of the fabulous time I had trying on my first tutu, when I was in the university ballet club. I had been helping out at the local charity shop and they asked me to model one of their most expensive tutus. You'd think I’d had years of ballet training, judging by the confident way I strutted out in that bright pink creation. I'd be lying if I didn’t say that’s where my love affair with tutus really began. A little pink tulle for charity sparked a huge transformation. And it turns out, those late nights in the lab experimenting with different types of fabrics have made my fabric choices in my tutu creations so much better. So thanks to a charity shop and my love of all things pink, my world has never looked more fabulous!

Anyway, my darling tutu enthusiasts, that's all from me for now, but I’ll be back with more amazing adventures. And until then, please remember to wear your pink tutu with pride! If it makes you feel this happy and fabulous, everyone should experience the magic of a pink tutu!

Stay sparkly, darling,
