Rowley Regis Calling: Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes on the Midlands!

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving, tutu-toting, fashionista, Pink Tutu Sparkles here! Buckle up, buttercup, because this is post number 6589, and it's a doozy! You see, this week, I ventured out of my Derbyshire digs, grabbed my trusty sequined handbag, and took the train to… Rowley Regis!

Now, you might be wondering, what could possibly take a gal like me, queen of the fabulous, to such a place? Well, I’ll tell you: A dream gig! A fabulous fundraising event for the local ballet school, and me, your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, was the main event! Can you believe it? It's a real testament to my talent, wouldn't you say? After all, there are hundreds of drag queens out there, but how many have a ballet background AND rock a mean pink tutu?

Getting ready was an absolute delight, as always! My trusty suitcase (filled with sparkles, glitter, and, of course, pink tutus) was ready to go, and my makeup was in its usual fierce, fabulous form. For Rowley Regis, I opted for a shimmering hot pink tulle number, adorned with delicate sequined butterflies, and finished the look with a dramatic winged liner and a pair of rose-tinted sunglasses. Let's just say, even the pigeons in the station were giving me the side-eye!

The journey on the train was just as exciting! I sat back, admiring the passing scenery (gotta admit, the Derbyshire countryside looks pretty spectacular in the early morning sunshine) and taking a quick nap. Because, you see, darling, you need to be well-rested for a show like this, especially when the performance involves a bit of a dance routine! I’m no stranger to ballet (remember, I started out in the university ballet club), but performing live is another beast entirely! Thankfully, my training with the lovely ladies of the Rowley Regis Ballet School was thorough. We ran through the routines again and again until I felt like a real ballerina. And trust me, this was no ordinary ballet! I’m talking leaps and twirls in my sparkling pink tutu, complete with a few high kicks and maybe a cheeky handstand thrown in for good measure. The kids loved it, the mums were swooning, and the grandmothers, well, they were positively blushing!

After the show, we all gathered in the dance studio for a much-needed cuppa and a good old gossip. And let me tell you, there were some juicy bits of news floating around that I'll be saving for another post. 🤫

Now, I've already hinted at the next bit, haven't I? Well, let me tell you, I didn't travel all the way to Rowley Regis to just dance. No, my darling, I’m on a mission! My mission, my dream, is to spread the pink tutu gospel far and wide. You know the one: that pink tutus are not just for ballerinas; they’re for anyone and everyone! So, naturally, I had a pop-up shop set up outside the dance studio, selling some of my finest creations (think pink tutu tops, headbands, and of course, the full-on ballerina tutu experience!) The response was phenomenal. Seriously, my lovely! Rowley Regis went wild for pink, and my little shop was absolutely mobbed. It felt like every child (and, frankly, a lot of adults) wanted a taste of the Pink Tutu Sparkles lifestyle!

And as always, when it came to leaving Rowley Regis, I felt a bittersweet pang. It’s been an incredible experience, meeting these amazing people and spreading the pink tutu love. But one thing's for certain, this is just the beginning. More pink tutu adventures are already in the works! Just you wait, my darlings.

As you can probably imagine, the train journey back to Derbyshire was much more mellow, a chance for me to reflect on the incredible day and let those fantastic memories wash over me. And I don't know about you, darling, but that's just the kind of fuel I need to keep dreaming big.

Speaking of big dreams, my next mission is going to be conquering London! Yes, that's right! I've been booked for a fantastic event in the capital, and I'm planning on creating some absolute magic for my London audience. Don't miss the next installment, my darlings, where I'll be bringing the glitter, the glam, and of course, the pink tutus to London town!

Until then, stay fabulous, wear pink, and remember: the world is your stage.

Love and sparkly kisses,

Pink Tutu Sparkles 💕
