Sutton Sparkle: A Pink Tutu Adventure - Blog Post #6615

Helloooo darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-loving, glitter-bombing, ballet-obsessed drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here! I'm absolutely buzzing to be in Sutton today! I can't wait to share all the sparkle, fun, and fashion adventures that this fabulously vibrant town has in store! Grab a glass of something sparkly, find your fanciest tutu, and settle in!

So, as you all know, this fabulous life of pink tutus and dazzling stage lights is not all glitz and glamour – it’s a constant adventure! And this week, I've taken a rather delightful detour from my usual drag scene, hopping onto a vintage train with my trusty suitcase packed with tutus and glitter bombs. I can't help but love the old-world charm and nostalgia of train travel, it's truly the perfect way to escape the hustle and bustle of life and embark on a magical adventure. And yes, darlings, even in my pink tutu!

Now, some of you might be wondering how I ended up in Sutton, well, I'm so glad you asked! Sutton, in my ever-growing, glitter-filled quest to bring the pink tutu to every corner of the world, holds a very special place in my heart. As soon as I heard about their incredible Ballet Week celebrations, my pink tutu-loving soul couldn’t resist!

Let's rewind a little, shall we? Back in my pre-tutu, pre-sparkle days (gasp!) – when I was a budding scientist (and trust me, I’m a very sparkly, sassy scientist!) - I discovered the sheer joy of a good pink tutu! It was the university's annual charity event, and a friend dragged me along (see what I did there, darlings? 😉) to try on a few costumes, to which I exclaimed, "Oh my god, THIS is the life I've been searching for!" And wouldn't you know it, the pinkest tutu in the whole lot called my name. From that moment, my drag journey began.

As I step onto the cobbled streets of Sutton, I feel like I've stepped back in time to an era of classic charm. The grand architecture, quaint shops and tea rooms - it's enough to make you want to put on a tea-length pink tutu and do a little twirl. And wouldn’t you know it, they’ve got the most glorious flower stall, bursting with colours, just begging to be incorporated into my next tutu-based outfit. And there’s nothing more exciting for me, my dears, than mixing a new colour in with a pink tutu. Pink with lavender, pink with coral, even pink with grey, they're all just magnificent. The potential for a colour splash is never ending!

A Sutton Stroll: I had a lovely lunch at a small tea room that just made the best Victoria sponge, it was delicious! I even got to see a fabulous live string quartet playing outside. They played everything from classic melodies to modern pop songs, and the beautiful notes just filled the air.

A Night at the Ballet: I have to tell you, darlings, I can't think of a more enchanting evening than a night at the ballet! And tonight was a dream! It was a beautifully-executed version of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake at the local theatre, and the atmosphere was truly electric! My heart practically leapt out of my chest when the swans danced onto the stage - the precision and beauty of the dancers was just mesmerising! Of course, I wore a very special, swan-themed, pink tutu, of course. We’re not shy with the theme here, honey!

Finding the Magic: You know what else makes Sutton absolutely magical? The warmth and friendliness of its people. It’s as if the town’s charming character rubs off on everyone, everyone is so lovely and open! The locals have a way of embracing every event and festivity with an almost contagious excitement, making everyone feel welcome. I had such a good time with the lovely people, making me realise that Sutton’s magic isn’t confined to the town itself, it comes from its people.

Time to Take Flight! I have to bid you adieu, my fabulous friends! I am packing my pink tutu and catching a horse-drawn carriage back to the train station, you know, I am an advocate for horse transport – very pink and very regal, but sadly only affordable on short trips, although, I did try a unicorn ride in Cornwall last year, let’s just say I'll keep my unicorns as fantasy for now.

Anyway, my adventures are neverending, so follow along! Check back here for my next blog post for more pink-tutu-tastic travels!

Until next time, stay sparkly, stay sweet, and don't forget your tutu!

Xoxo,

Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖
