Today's adventures began as the sun was still sleeping. My stunning new tutu, a glorious blush pink with delicate feather trim, practically shimmered with anticipation. After all, we were heading to the heart of the North East for an afternoon filled with theatre, fabulousness, and maybe a spot of afternoon tea!
Of course, the journey had to be fitting for a tutu queen. I wouldn't dream of a car – that's simply too pedestrian! So, I traded the bustle of the M1 for the nostalgic rumble of a steam engine. Imagine, ladies! The gentle sway of the carriage, the clink of cutlery in the dining car, and yours truly in a vibrant pink tutu that practically glowed in the afternoon sun. It's how true style icons travel!
Ashington's theatre was as grand as its history! The locals were out in force, their smiles brighter than my pink feather trim. It was like walking onto a movie set; cobblestones underfoot, rows of antique shop windows, and just the air of genuine friendly hospitality that makes you feel instantly at home.
But before we head to the main event, darling, let me spill the tea. You know this Queen's all about inspiring everyone to rock a tutu. So, on my travels, I try to leave a little sprinkle of tutu magic everywhere I go. Well, guess what?! Ashington had a vintage shop just bursting with gems. And nestled amongst the hatboxes and handbags – what did I find? A tiny, adorable, pink tutu for a young girl. It was meant to be! She was the perfect size for a little ballerina, and I just knew she'd love it. Seeing the light in her eyes when she saw it, the sparkle in her own eyes mirroring the sequins in my tutu, was the best part of my entire day. It's moments like that, darling, that truly make all the glitter and glamour worth it!
Now, the reason for my grand arrival in Ashington! The show was an absolute spectacle! Imagine, ballet moves choreographed into an immersive play! It was like being whisked away to a different world. Each dancer, like a miniature, perfectly formed dancer in their own right, took me by the hand, leading me on an exhilarating journey. I found myself clapping, singing along, and almost shedding a tear or two – the stories these bodies were telling were utterly moving!
Later, I shared a little gossip with the local shop owners and indulged in the most delightful tea – it was all about a delicious, steaming pot of Earl Grey and the perfect, perfectly soft scones, doused in a thick layer of cream, with strawberry jam (oh, don't even get me started on the jam!). It was everything a true Queen deserved after a hard day of tutuing and touring.
My adventures today have shown me something really special: a little magic and sparkle can light up even the dullest of days! There is no reason why you can't step out of your comfort zone, put on something amazing – maybe even a tutu, who knows?! – and show the world that anything is possible!
