Hello my darling darlings, and welcome to Pink Tutu Sparkles’ blog, post number 6731! Today I’m bursting with excitement, as I’ve just arrived in beautiful Aberdeen, Scotland! The journey up was simply divine, a delightful jaunt by train, with views so picturesque that I almost didn’t mind the occasional, inevitable delay. I always find that a train journey is the perfect time to get some work done - and let’s be honest, with a dazzling, pink and sparkling tutu-tastic ensemble like this, the train is definitely my runway!
Aberdeen’s streets have a charming seaside charm that reminds me of the pretty, quaint villages in my own beautiful Derbyshire, but with a cool, urban edge that has me already dreaming up some fabulously fierce stage outfits! I can’t wait to get my shopping on, to explore the local shops, boutiques and markets – who knows what sparkling, fabulous pink gems I’ll uncover. You know, I always say that a fabulous outfit is an investment. You have to treat yourself now and then! After all, life's a stage and we're all the stars!
Speaking of stages, I’m absolutely buzzing to be performing at The Tivoli tonight! I have heard such amazing things about their incredible show space and can’t wait to bring my very own brand of pink tutu magic to this beautiful city! I love those beautiful old venues that have seen generations of talented people perform, and I'm so excited to share the stage with them! I always feel at my most fabulous performing in historical places like this - the energy is just electric, you know? It's like being surrounded by all the brilliant, flamboyant performers of the past. They're all cheering me on!
Now, darling, don’t think for a second I’m neglecting my tutu training! In fact, as soon as I got off the train, I made my way to Aberdeen Ballet School to have a private lesson with the lovely Miss Agnes. Now, she’s a real treasure - the most incredible teacher with years and years of experience. It was a rigorous, fabulous session, where she taught me some truly brilliant new tricks and moves that I can’t wait to integrate into my performance. Miss Agnes is an absolute force of nature, and if you ever get the chance, book a lesson! You'll be spinning, leaping and twirling with the best of them, just like me.
It’s just after noon now, and after a truly fabulous breakfast of freshly baked scones, jam and cream - all pink of course - it’s time to prep for my big show tonight! This city’s got me feeling extra glittery and full of pink sparkles. There's something special about the north that really brings out the fabulous in you, don't you think? I’m thinking a spectacular pink outfit - but I want to incorporate a little bit of Scotland into it, perhaps a hint of tartan or thistles. Something understatedly bold that is perfectly balanced between whimsical and elegant. It has to be a statement!
After a little outfit-hunting, I’ll be taking a leisurely stroll through the city centre and popping into a few boutiques and markets, because as I’m sure you know, you can’t possibly go on a fabulous adventure without a new outfit! Then it’s back to the hotel for some much-needed pampering and prep.
