Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to sprinkle some glitter and glamour all over your screens from the charming town of Rayleigh, Essex.
It's been a while since I last sashayed down the railway lines (literally, I rode the train here, darling! Horse was unavailable, unfortunately) but I'm back with another juicy blog post, bubbling over with fashion, fun, and a whole lot of pink.
Rayleigh: A Breath of Fresh Air
Rayleigh greeted me with its open arms, literally - the local folk were positively thrilled to have a Pink Tutu Sparkles on their streets. There's something quite magical about a small town welcoming a travelling queen with open arms, wouldn't you say? It makes the journey worthwhile, every single time!
And let's talk about the town itself! A hidden gem, honestly, with its beautiful historical sites, bustling market square and of course, a lovely little boutique that just had to be visited. Of course, I treated myself to some delightful pink accessories - you know, a bit of "me" for the travelling trousseau. My dear friend, Chloe the shop owner, also informed me that Rayleigh's annual Victorian street fair was happening the next day! Imagine my joy! Think historical charm, a good dose of theatre, and enough pink ribbons to dress an entire ballet troupe! I knew this was the place to be, this week!
Performances: Glittering with Delight
Now, where was I? Ah yes, I had two shows to perform in this week! A private party (always the most exciting, you never know what kind of clientele you'll be facing) and then the aforementioned Victorian Street Fair. The latter was simply brilliant - you know, it's quite inspiring to be able to showcase your act within a period setting, and let's be honest - nothing goes better with vintage than a good dose of tutu-fied fabulousness, right? The crowds cheered, the cameras clicked and I managed to even charm a local dog into wearing a mini pink tutu - talk about street-smart! Tutu Tips & Treasures
Speaking of tutus, Rayleigh wouldn't have been the same without my beloved dance studio stop - I can never visit a new town without getting in a quick session with the local ballet classes! And boy oh boy, did Rayleigh have a gem!
- The teacher, Miss Rose, gave me a tip for you all, darlings! She suggested finding your personal tutu colour, the one that makes you feel like the absolute queen you are. Now, we all know pink is the colour - but for those of you who fancy something a little bolder (we are not afraid of a little bold, right?) then this advice from Miss Rose is a gold mine!
- Speaking of tutu goldmines, guess where I found another one in Rayleigh? Yes! You guessed it - in a lovely vintage clothing store. I unearthed a truly divine pink tutu, the perfect shade of pastel - it was as if it had been waiting for me, in all its frilly glory! Of course, it went straight into my travelling collection - I just know it's destined for the stage, my dears!
Everyday Elegance
Don't be fooled, dearies, this pink tutu journey isn't all about glittering lights and dazzling performances. It's about embracing the magic of life, one sparkly step at a time! Even in my scientist persona - Alex is my day job name darling - I wear pink and let the glitter infuse my work, so I always find ways to let my pink tutu persona sparkle through - like this bright pink lab coat - I'll make a post about that another day!
