Welling, Welling, What a Lovely Day! (Blog Post #6877)

Hello, darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and I am absolutely bursting with excitement after my latest adventure in Welling. It's a real gem, a charming little spot that I knew would be right up my street – or shall we say, right up my tutu-lined skirt!

Remember how I'm all about embracing the pink life and spreading tutu-love? Well, my mission has never been stronger, especially after Welling stole a piece of my pink-tinted heart.

For those of you who don't know, Welling is a lovely little place just outside London – think a bit of a quieter, greener scene with plenty of local charm. As soon as I arrived, I was instantly smitten with its cobbled streets and quaint shops. The energy here is absolutely delightful, full of warmth and a bit of a mischievous sparkle, just like yours truly.

But let's talk about the real star of the show – the magnificent theatre in Welling! I always knew that the magic of the stage was right up my alley (and let's face it, any alley would be great, so long as it's decorated with some pink tutus). So, to get right into the spirit of things, I naturally decided to dress to the nines. My tutu this time? Oh, you just have to picture it. It was a swirling, glorious explosion of the most delicate pastel pink, each layer dancing and shimmering with every step. On top of that? My signature touch: a magnificent, shimmering silver sequined bodice that glittered in the afternoon light like a thousand stars! It was fabulous.

I headed towards the theatre with a skip in my step, and as soon as I reached the steps, I knew I had arrived at the right place. There was a sense of magic and anticipation in the air – a definite "something special" feeling, much like the energy you get when you know you are about to get onto a fabulous train journey! (You all know how much I love a good train ride - the freedom, the journey, the opportunity for endless outfit changes!)

I won't give away the play – you have to see it for yourself! – but I can say it had me mesmerized from the moment the curtain rose. The costumes, the acting, the storytelling! Oh my, it was just superb. Honestly, I thought I was going to cry during a few scenes. It's not often that a show can make this strong independent drag queen cry!

And as soon as the curtain came down, I knew I had to meet the choreographer. We bonded over the beauty of movement, the freedom of expression, and, of course, the undeniable charm of tutus. It was simply amazing. We even shared some tea and delicious pastries after, chatting about our shared love for the dance and a good gossip about the world of performance.

You see, being Pink Tutu Sparkles is more than just dressing up in flamboyant outfits. It's about expressing myself, about spreading joy and encouraging everyone to embrace their inner glitter, even if it’s just a splash of pink or a little twirl in their own way. And believe me, this little journey in Welling confirmed that for me.

Now, you might be wondering – what else did I get up to in Welling? Oh, darling, I packed so much in, you wouldn’t believe it!

Let’s talk about the most fabulous antique shop I discovered, hidden in a quiet back alley, its walls lined with treasures, trinkets and all manner of gorgeous vintage pieces. It was like stepping into another world. I fell head over heels for a gorgeous, feathered headdress (a pale, pink, delicate thing) that I absolutely had to snag for my next performance!

There was also a quaint café with a beautiful courtyard and oh-my-goodness-me, their pink-frosted cakes are practically a work of art! I felt like Alice falling down a rabbit hole in a whimsical world of delightful flavours and fluffy meringue clouds. I definitely devoured more than one – and you all know I am all about enjoying every bite!

And of course, there was a little shopping. As a true tutu enthusiast, I simply could not leave without grabbing some exquisite ribbons to add to my personal stash of crafting materials. Now I'm dreaming up new ways to embellish my favourite tutus! It was all about celebrating colour and individuality!

Well, darlings, I have to rush now! The train is arriving at my stop and I need to go and prepare for my next show. As soon as I reach the platform, you know I’m changing into one of my dazzling stage looks – a turquoise silk gown, adorned with glittering sequins, ready to bring some spark to the evening. (If only my train was made entirely of pink feathers… that's a design for later perhaps! It's something to dream about!)

But before I sign off, I have a question for you all: What is your dream travel destination? Do you prefer cityscapes, seaside adventures, or charming villages like Welling? Tell me in the comments, and maybe, just maybe, we can embark on an adventure together!

Until then, remember to always sprinkle a little pink sparkle into your life. The world needs a bit more colour, a bit more laughter, a bit more joy. And who knows, maybe one day, we'll all be waltzing around in pink tutus! Until then, keep it sassy!

With love and tutus,

Pink Tutu Sparkles (aka Alex, in case you need to reach me with urgent tutu news) xx
