Cleethorpes: Tutu Tales of a Seaside Escape!

Pink Tutu Sparkles Reporting In! 💅💖✨

Hello, darling darlings! It’s your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with a brand-spanking new blog post for you. Today, I'm whisking you away to the gorgeous seaside town of Cleethorpes for my 6882nd post, straight from my pink tutu-filled heart - as always! 💋

This time, I decided to ditch the glamour of the train (though let’s face it, I absolutely love a good train journey in full drag - so much space to twirl!) and went old-school, totally retro darling, hopping on a horse-drawn carriage. Yup, that’s right – tutu and carriage! Imagine me, all pink ruffles and sparkly smiles, bouncing along to the rhythm of a galloping steed. Now that's what I call a true entrance!

It wasn’t easy finding the perfect horse carriage, you know, the one that would fit a queen of my stature. I’ve got my standards, darling! No way was I going to cram myself into some dusty old carriage that smelled of hay and looked like it belonged in a dusty museum. I’m Pink Tutu Sparkles, not Alice in Wonderland! I needed a carriage as grand as my dreams - which basically meant sparkly and as pink as possible.

Luckily, the kind folk of Cleethorpes love a bit of sparkle - after all, this place knows how to really put on a show. I managed to charm the owner of this fabulous, very pink, carriage with my sassy personality and my killer tutu. Let’s face it, how could you say no to my glimmering self? Not a chance!

The horse pulling the carriage was just as cute! It sported a pink flower behind its ear - well, actually a couple of pink tulip flowers. I told him I thought they suited him perfectly – a dashing stallion deserving of his pinkness! The moment I climbed aboard, the horse gave a little whinny as if to say, “Oh honey, your tutu looks spectacular! Don't you worry about your princess worries, I’ll get you there safe and sound”.

This place is definitely not just another seaside town. The pier's decked out in bright lights, perfect for catching a twirl, the beach sparkles under a clear blue sky and you can hear seagulls singing in the breeze – seriously romantic, you know what I mean? There’s a beautiful old cinema on the promenade, I couldn't resist trying to snag a pic of me with it! Oh my God, it's seriously picture-perfect - and you know I’m not the one to turn down a good photo op! And did I mention all the beautiful little shops with their bright window displays and pastel-colored candy stalls! Honestly, my fashion-loving heart nearly burst with excitement.

Now, you can't mention Cleethorpes without talking about its fab history! From its thriving fishing past to its glorious Victorian architecture, this town is full of story. I simply love soaking up a bit of history whenever I’m on the road – and Cleethorpes doesn’t disappoint! I found a wonderful little museum tucked away on the high street, filled with all kinds of fascinating trinkets and local treasures. They even had a collection of gorgeous old Victorian costumes!

After I had my fill of local culture (and my stomach had started growling for a very pink ice-cream!) I found a charming little cafe right on the promenade. You know, I love to treat myself to a spot of high tea whenever I can, so naturally, this café became my pink tutu palace for the afternoon. Strawberry jam and clotted cream sandwiches – yes, deliciously pink, darling! There was a slight issue with the cream-cake that they tried to bring out. A big pink catastrophe! The chef (well, it was more of a very nice lady called Brenda!) brought me a cake that looked like it’d been through a hurricane! I thought, "Oh my God, Brenda, is this how you treat your most glamorous guests?!” I was a little horrified to be honest!

I gently, very gently darling, * reminded Brenda about the standards expected of a queen of my stature and a good amount of sparkly glitter sprinkled over it, and all was well with the world. In a matter of minutes, I was enjoying a wonderfully fluffy, pink (of course!) cake - that Brenda, Bless her, made a real *chef’s kiss!

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you! I also spent a good few hours wandering around the market - Cleethorpes has a beautiful market hall with a massive indoor shopping space that houses some of the coolest local craftspeople. You’d never guess, it's even got a vintage clothing store! Can you believe it?! They had this amazing feather boa (with a pinch of pink, darling!) and a velvet scarf that screamed vintage glam. It felt like I’d stepped straight onto the set of a stylish vintage movie - how's that for a dose of old Hollywood charm, darling?! I actually ended up picking out some new bling for my tutu collection – what's a queen to do?! Honestly, I found the most gorgeous swarovski crystals in shades of pink (of course) that were absolutely screaming out for my tutus to wear.

By nightfall, I was ready for the spotlight, as I brought my sparkly self to a local bar – a great venue where the locals know how to party hard. I'm talking about disco balls, pink neon lights (of course!) and an amazing dance floor ready for my big, tutu-filled arrival! My setlist? A mix of my own pink power pop anthemns, my signature dance routines (tutu-friendly of course!), and a bit of disco throwbacks for a feel-good energy vibe! The place was packed by the time I took the stage, the audience totally losing themselves in the glitter and pink that was Pink Tutu Sparkles!

From a sparkly carriage ride, to a tutu tastic performance, this Cleethorpes trip was a true Pink Tutu Sparkles experience! What a fab escape, don’t you think, darlings?! And speaking of escapes …. guess what?! I've got more adventures waiting for you, my lovelies. So stay tuned! See you next time right here on Pink-Tutu.com.

Until next time, darling!
