Bishops Stortford: Tutu Travels and Tutu Dreams

Hello darlings!

Welcome to Pink-Tutu.com, where tutus and sparkle reign supreme! This is your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, checking in with you all, and guess what? I'm on the road again! It feels like every day is a brand-new adventure. This is post number 6888, a grand total of shimmering adventures and I’m feeling so thankful!

I must admit, today is a day of "pink-tutu" excitement because I'm making my way to the beautiful Bishops Stortford to sprinkle a little tutu magic and hopefully get everyone twirling in pink.

This journey started as most of them do, with a whiff of excitement and a pinch of pink-tutu-fueled wanderlust. You know, that urge to pack a case, grab a train ticket and leave the lab coat at home! That's my day job, you see – testing fabric at the lab, it's so exciting... But it's nothing compared to the exhilarating rush of shimmering beneath the spotlight. It’s an amazing life for someone who never dreamed they’d fall in love with tutus! I used to be all lab coats and lectures until a chance moment in uni sparked the love for all things tutu, and here I am!

The thing is, life was good, until I saw a "pink tutu" at a charity event – I was actually helping to sell them for an amazing charity called "Help a Tutu" - and the moment I donned it, the world exploded into a dazzling swirl of sequins, frills, and possibilities. Honestly, who knew a pink tutu could spark such an incredible journey?!

And the train ride to Bishops Stortford wasn't just any old journey – I boarded in Derby, my home county, and as I gazed at the countryside flying by, I couldn't help but think how far the “pink tutu” has taken me. It's hard to believe I started out as a quiet scientist by day and by night would perform to a handful of excited people. It’s so funny because everyone said that being a drag queen would ruin my career, but they were so wrong! It just gave my life so much more sparkle and meaning!

Right now, my head is abuzz with plans. Tonight, Bishops Stortford, get ready for a Pink Tutu explosion! I've been working on my new routine, and I'm pretty sure it's my best yet. And, as always, there'll be plenty of pink tutus! My little dream of having everyone twirling in a pink tutu is slowly but surely coming true – one tutu at a time, and a show or two!

Here's a glimpse into what's been inspiring my style and choreography lately:

  • Ballet Dreams: Every now and then, I find myself wandering into a ballet class. Don’t laugh, I truly enjoy watching ballerinas float across the stage, the elegance and strength, the artistry of the movements - they inspire my own dance routine so much! Plus, they usually love pink, which makes me feel at home, even when I’m just there watching!

  • My Tutu Wonderland: As for my outfits – you'll find me in a glorious parade of pink and sparkly tutus. Think layers upon layers of tulle, with strategically placed sequins, and oh-so-much glitter! You wouldn't be caught dead with less than one bag of sequins. There is always, and I mean always, a good reason for more sparkle in your life! I recently discovered a gorgeous little boutique in Derbyshire called "Tutus and Thrills" and let's just say, I didn't walk out with only one tutu, I had to grab a few just in case! Oh and you just have to follow "Tutu Tuesdays" where you find me doing a tutu catwalk in all my newest pieces.

  • Pink Is My Passion: Did I mention I love pink? Think blush, bubblegum, hot pink, fuchsia, coral – my colour palette is as varied as my sparkly personality. The more shades of pink, the better. And let's not forget the incredible power of glitter. It's not just an accessory, it's a philosophy of life!

  • A Little Fairy-tale Magic: Sometimes, I go down the fairy-tale rabbit hole and dive head first into a whimsical ballet performance. Oh, the pure delight of seeing magical stories unfold onstage – it fills me with joy and inspiration, and sparks the tutu imagination. There's a little bit of fairytale in every tutu dream, right? I was mesmerized by Swan Lake at the Royal Opera House – and of course the sheer joy of watching ballerinas fly through the air in glorious white and black tutus, made me realize, they should totally incorporate pink into the set design! If there's a better colour for a fairy tale I don't know about it. I always think a dash of pink can lift any costume to an even more fabulous level!

So here I am, ready to paint Bishops Stortford pink, with all the glitter, sequins and sparkle I can muster. The show starts soon! If you happen to be around Bishops Stortford, stop by! You don't have to know all the moves to enjoy a little sparkle. The tutu love is universal, even the blokes in Bishops Stortford are likely to enjoy a splash of pink glitter! And you know, every time someone dons a pink tutu it brings us all a little closer to that magical world, a little more hope and sparkle for everyone.

Stay sparkly my dears!
