Billingham: Pink Tutu Sparkles in the North East! 💖

Hello gorgeous girlies! 💖 Welcome to Pink Tutu Sparkles' Blog! This is post number 6907 and today we’re bringing the glitter and glamour to Billingham, right in the heart of the North East!

It’s been a whirlwind few days - you know, that life as a pink tutu-wearing drag queen on the road always is! It's a total dream to be travelling, bringing some fabulous fun and sparkle wherever I go. This week's been a fab one, full of adventures in Billingham.

Billingham: Where the Ballet Begins! 🩰

Before I got all glitzy and sparkly and headed to the stage, I took a little detour – right to Billingham's very own ballet studio!

Oh my god, I absolutely love ballet! It's a passion I’ve held since my days at the university, where my drag career literally started… in a pink tutu, I kid you not! Back then, I was just a science student who needed some giggles – it was for charity. But I found out I absolutely adored twirling in a pink tutu and doing a bit of "Alex and his Fancy Tutu". And you know, they say that little twinkle becomes the spark, and that's what happened to me!

You can read more about it on my blog, Post number 3208: Pink Tutu: From Science Lab to Stage.

Now, let's get back to my Billingham ballet class! It’s been such an amazing experience to dance and just immerse myself in the beauty of ballet, a total must for any girly. I especially love learning the choreography - it's all so precise and fluid. Just fabulous! I just couldn’t wait to show everyone my fabulous skills later in the evening at my performance in Billingham!

Tutu on the Train - Adventures on the Rails 🚂

After my ballet class, I had a bit of time before heading to the venue. And you know me, I like a bit of glamour and comfort, so I hitched a ride on the train – with a whole bunch of excited fans too!

One of the best parts about being a pink tutu queen is travelling. Especially by train! They are such a fabulous form of transportation - with a touch of whimsy to boot! Especially when you wear a pink tutu.

Everyone looked at me in amusement! "Are you a Pink Tutu? Fancy dress, eh?" And I say, "Hello darling! This is my outfit. The more pink, the better!". One granny was giving me the eye, but she’s only 10 minutes younger than my nana, she has every right to judge. We can talk about grannies some other time – maybe even tell you about my Nana's fabulous hat!

You know what's brilliant about train journeys? Everyone wants to be your best friend. "That's a stunning outfit," one bloke in a business suit whispered. Then he asked if I wanted to buy a ticket for him too! He thought I looked like a good bet! "Sorry sweetheart, I have to get to Billingham" (you know, gotta get my stage on!). He gave me a knowing smile, "Sure thing", and got off the train at Newcastle.

I told him to join me at my next show – maybe next month. And you know, maybe that will happen. Because after all, in the grand scheme of things – if someone wants to be your best friend for an afternoon, you go for it. That’s how I got to the venue. Now how’s that for some brilliant, fun adventure?!

Billingham Nightlife: Tutu and the Twinkling Lights! 💖

Oh honey, this venue was magical. I was performing in this cute, cozy theater - it was a real throwback, you know what I mean? Red velvet seats, sparkling lights and a real “it’s-all-happening” feel! That vibe gets you right in the mood to shine and just spread some good time vibes!

Now, let’s talk about my outfit, darling! Pink, of course! I just have to! I mean, we all know how much I love pink! 💖. Today, it was all about sparkles and lace - because in the pinkest kingdom, I want a royal tutu ensemble for my fabulous performance. A dress and a tutu, you know, the real deal – but made for me by a very fabulous, amazing tailor, in the colour that I absolutely love!

You know, pink tutus don't just stop with ballet. They can take you all over the world! They are amazing for travel! Who needs suitcases? Pack a big pink tutu and your essentials - your wig, your make-up and you’re good to go. Tutu travel is totally the way to go. You won’t get lost in the crowd either!

You have to follow the crowd. Or at least have a great big bright light!

So there I was, performing for Billingham, getting those dance moves working their magic with every glitter and every twirl! You know, the crowd went absolutely crazy! People were singing, cheering - a total riot! Even a couple of children had their own mini-tutus, you can't beat a toddler in pink - you know how we all go goo-goo for little tots in their tiny ballet skirts! 💖 And to think that this was a totally random choice of place! Billingham, baby, we got to bring it!

Oh darling, it's all about sharing the pink tutu magic! Every time I perform, I get this warm fuzzy feeling, because you can’t be anything but happy in pink! So why don’t you embrace the tutu-loving life, and maybe one day we'll see you at one of my gigs! Maybe, you’ll join me at my next big journey, on the train, the road or a ferry, in pink, to my next big show!

Post Scriptum

I have a new, exciting collaboration going on, but I can’t reveal everything! All I’ll say is - we will have some big adventures – there might even be horses.
