Hello my lovely darlings! It's Pink Tutu Sparkles, your favourite pink tutu-clad, sequin-loving drag queen blogger, bringing you a slice of sunshine straight from the fabulous seaside town of Bridlington! Oh, the journey to get here was divine! I took the train, you see - nothing beats watching the world go by with a delicious hot chocolate and a good book (in my case, "The History of Tutus from the 15th Century").
From Derbyshire to the Sea:
This week, it's been a whirlwind of tutus and trains, darlings! My trusty old faithful, a gorgeous vintage luggage suitcase stuffed full of sparkling tulle, glittery shoes, and a bevy of fluffy feather boas, went on quite the adventure. We left the green hills of Derbyshire behind (and my fabulous day job at the lab) and hurtled towards the salty air and the joyous promise of fish and chips.
Oh, Bridlington, Youāve Stolen My Heart:
Bridlington, you beautiful seaside beauty, welcomed me with open arms and a sea breeze full of promises. It was like stepping into a vintage postcard, complete with colourful beach huts, amusement arcades, and the gentle sound of seagulls vying for chips with the locals. I simply adored every minute. Did I mention the freshly made doughnuts with pink icing that I sampled from the market? Pure, utter heaven!
Sparkle in the Harbour:
Speaking of havens, this place has a harbour teeming with boats - enough to fill a tutu with glee, darlings! Thereās a charm about the place thatās almost mythical, a hint of the ocean's mystery, with its fishermen's tales, salty air, and whispers of forgotten lore. Iām already planning a return visit, this time to learn how to tackle a sailing boat! Imagine - Pink Tutu Sparkles, the high seas pirate queen!
From Ballet Class to Big Stages:
Now, I wouldnāt be true to myself if I didnāt mention my passion for dance, wouldn't I? This weekend, I found a ballet school tucked away in the quaintest corner of Bridlington. I mean, who knew? So naturally, I donned my newest tutu, a breathtaking confection of blush pink tulle with shimmering gold sequins andā¦ (whispers)ā¦a bit of extra sparkle. Well, a queenās gotta keep the magic alive!
A Tutu-Full Evening at the Pier:
But the highlight of my Bridlington adventure was definitely my performance at the iconic pier! The audience was filled with bright smiles and glittering laughter, and it felt wonderful to bring some pink tutu joy to this beautiful seaside town. My setlist included a few favourites: āTwinkle Twinkle Little Starā (with a jazzy twist, obviously!), āThe Tutu Songā (an ode to the fluffiness and wonder of tutus) and, for the grand finale, āSparkly Sparkle-Time,ā my own composition, an ode to all things bright, bold and fabulously pink!
The Power of a Pink Tutu:
And that, darlings, brings us to the heart of this whole pink tutu adventure. You know, as a scientist by day (who would have thought a lab-coat and a tutu could be best friends? Itās a delightful fusion, wouldn't you agree?) and a fabulous drag queen by night, Iāve learned something truly important: it's the little things that truly matter, the sparkly sprinkles of joy we bring to the world. A touch of glitter, a swirl of tulle, a whole lot of fabulous...thatās how we make the world a brighter, more beautiful place. And remember, everyone can wear a pink tutu in their own unique way, be it in the heart, the soul, or even a daringly sparkly outfit.
The Future of the Pink Tutu Dream:
