This queen is headed to the most romantic city in the world, the city of lights, the city that knows how to party, the city where dreams are made…Paris!
Now, I know what you’re thinking – a drag queen and Paris? It's a match made in heaven! I can already hear the ooh la las! My trusty, feather-boa covered, travel-savvy suitcase is already packed and I'm raring to go. I've got my pinkest tulle tutu ready, my favourite bright pink feather boa, a stack of shimmering sequin tops, a selection of stunning, eye-catching pink frocks – this is going to be the most fabulous trip!
Paris has got it all - romantic walks along the Seine, the Louvre Museum (oh how I long to gaze upon the Mona Lisa!), exquisite patisseries, elegant cafes, charming street performers - and oh darling, I'll be sure to slip in a few fabulous ballet classes and performances too!
But before we set off, let me tell you how I'm getting there. I know this is going to shock you, but I’ve ditched the usual high-speed rail travel, this time I'm going by train. No, not any old train, we’re talking first-class luxury with panoramic views of the countryside. The French sure know how to make a journey an event, and darling, a queen needs some good old fashioned luxury on a trip to the city of romance, don't you agree?
Now, I know some of you love my travels, but I bet you're dying to know how this little pink tutu queen funds all this excitement, aren't you? Well, it's a little bit of a secret… I’m like a real-life magical fairy - except, I'm a fabulous drag artist who happens to be a scientist by day! Yep, you heard right, by day I'm analyzing fabrics in the lab and by night, I'm on the stage, performing my sparkly heart out. You see, there’s a good reason for all my scientific knowledge - the delicate structure of a tutu fabric! Believe me, a girl needs the best blend of strength and flexibility when you’re swirling, twirling, and posing!
Honestly, being a drag artist is amazing. It’s so much more than just a night-time hobby; it’s my lifeblood. It’s a way for me to express myself and connect with people. But that isn’t to say I don’t miss the simplicity of being Alex, the scientist - working on fascinating new fabric technologies, like colour-changing clothing - that would be amazing! And who knows, perhaps in the future, my day job will lead me to discover the ultimate pink tulle, so we all can achieve maximum tutus-on-the-go success!
Right, now let’s talk a bit about Paris…
Oh darling, my heart leaps when I think of Paris! That iconic Parisian vibe; all those cafes, boutiques, art galleries, theatres… this city simply pulses with inspiration. Paris is a city that embraces individuality and celebrates the arts, and you better believe this queen will be making the most of every opportunity to celebrate that. And speaking of celebration, I've got plans for the ultimate, sparklingly flamboyant fashion show on the streets of Paris! This isn’t just about wearing a tutu, it's about feeling bold, beautiful and, yes, sparkly. So, gather your pinkest tulle, girls! Because Paris is the perfect place to let your pink tutus shine.
So far my journey is off to an excellent start, darling. After a relaxing first-class train ride, the French countryside whizzing past me, I checked into my hotel. Let me tell you, darling, my heart nearly leapt out of my chest - they have a room with a private balcony that overlooks the Eiffel Tower! This, my loves, is how you truly feel the magic of Paris! The twinkling lights are already captivating! And the Parisian energy...it's intoxicating, darling, utterly intoxicating.
Already, this trip has started to live up to my expectations - I mean, my heart's already beating to the rhythm of Paris. From sipping tea at a quaint café to walking past cobbled streets in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, I am feeling all the romantic vibes this city has to offer!
And oh my goodness, you wouldn't believe the clothes shops I've stumbled upon - darling, Paris is a shopaholic’s paradise! You haven’t seen a fashion lover’s paradise until you’ve explored the streets of Paris. And trust me, I’m already on a mission to uncover those amazing hidden gem boutiques. Let’s just say, my wardrobe is about to get a whole lot pinker!
