It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another blog post from my adventures in fabulousness! This is post number 6996 for those keeping track, and trust me, there are plenty more sparkling gems to come. ✨
This week, I found myself whisked away to the historic city of Oxford! It's hard to believe this is the first time I've been there, what with all its legendary universities and iconic architecture. Honestly, Oxford, you are living up to your billing, and I'm so glad I got to experience your magic firsthand!
As always, I love a good train journey, and this one was no different. I settled into a comfy carriage and just let the English countryside wash over me. It's such a soothing way to travel, allowing you to switch off from the busy city life and immerse yourself in the beauty of the rolling hills, the quaint little villages, and of course, the sheer charm of being a Pink Tutu-wearing queen on a train! 💖
When I arrived in Oxford, I knew exactly where to head first: a ballet class, of course! As you know, I live for all things ballet, so naturally, a class was non-negotiable. I managed to squeeze into a drop-in class at the beautiful Oxford Ballet School and let me tell you, these guys are top notch! The energy was electric, the moves were stunning, and I just loved being back in that blissful environment. 🩰
You guys know I always go for a look that screams elegance, so I made sure my tutu game was strong for the class. I decided to rock my sparkly blush pink tulle number, just the right amount of pink for a day of elegant movement! 💖✨
Now, after that blissful hour of ballet, I was absolutely famished. Where else could I head but to one of Oxford's oldest and most traditional pubs? They always have the most delicious food, not to mention those lovely warm fires. Plus, I can’t resist a good pint of local ale. 🍺
I am a girl who loves to try new things! As I strolled around Oxford, I was utterly mesmerized by its medieval architecture, which was unlike anything I’ve seen before. We don’t have anything like this in my neck of the woods in Derbyshire! So I booked myself a spot on a guided tour around the Bodleian Library, with all its hidden nooks and crannies. Talk about a place filled with magic!
As the day wore on, I felt like I needed a bit of retail therapy! Oxford is an absolute haven for vintage and unique shops! I found this little independent store brimming with unique outfits, and let me tell you, it was heaven for a fashion-loving queen like myself. I found the perfect sequined dress in the most delightful shade of pale pink. It’s destined to become my new stagewear for my next performance. 😉
This brought me to another vital part of any Pink Tutu Sparkles travel diary: my outfits! It’s a constant balancing act, deciding between outfits that are bold enough to make a statement and are appropriate for whatever activities I might be indulging in. You can never go wrong with a classic white tee and denim combination paired with my favourite pink sparkly belt, because you know, even a girl needs to relax and feel casual now and again. But that night I put my stage wardrobe through its paces in a glittering gold tulle skirt and pink sparkly crop top for my cabaret performance. 💖
After a delicious dinner in one of Oxford’s quaint restaurants, I finally made my way to my performance. A beautiful pub with a wonderful stage - what more could a girl ask for?! My set was, naturally, full of pink! From my bright pink feathered headdress to my signature pink glitter-bomb finale, it was a blast from start to finish. And you can bet the crowd loved it! 💖🤩
Before you ask, I managed to find a stable to take my next horse ride in the Cotswolds just a short journey from Oxford. I’m already in touch with them to plan my trip to visit. Horseback riding is one of my absolute passions. You can just imagine what I will look like with all that pink, on a gorgeous horse, cantering through the countryside! 💕 Don't worry, I’ll make sure to document it all for you!
This trip to Oxford truly has been a dream. I love seeing how history and beauty combine, making it a place full of elegance, wonder, and joy! Oh, and of course, a city where a girl can rock her pink tutu and get all the sparkles! ✨
