Oh hello my lovelies! It's your Pink Tutu Sparkles, here with another fabulous post for you from the magical world of tutus and sparkle! Today, I'm writing from the bustling, historical town of Harrow in North West London - a proper bobby-dazzler!
I know, I know, you're all wondering how I'm keeping up with all my blog posts while travelling the world. Well, darling, I wouldn't leave you high and dry! I've got my trusty laptop and a very good internet connection at my fabulous little flat in Derbyshire - which I have to say, is an absolute gem, tucked away in a quaint little village, perfect for getting my creativity flowing and planning out all my exciting outfits. You wouldn't believe the stunning views!
Speaking of fabulous outfits, darling, today's post is all about pink and fluffy. I have been to a most exquisite ballet performance at the beautiful Harrow Arts Centre - the iconic Harrow School was just a short stroll away, you know, the one with all the old school ties? - I thought I might have been dreaming. Such elegant dancers in those beautiful costumes, the sheer beauty of it all, it just had me swishing my own tutu in the air! The show was absolutely magnificent. It reminded me why I adore ballet. And after the show, well, the little pink spark in my heart had me waltzing all the way to the gift shop for a new tutu - a brand new sparkly pink tutu! (Let's just say it's my favourite shade of pink...ever. And no, I haven't got enough, lol!).
For the Harrow adventure, I did the grand old fashioned, and very delightful journey up by train! It was just like being a character in a beautiful novel. Imagine the gorgeous views - rolling green hills, quaint countryside scenes, it was so calming, almost like a meditative journey.
I also took a bit of time to go exploring and what a place it is! Just off Harrow-on-the-Hill station you find the Harrow School itself. Can you imagine that name - "Harrow"! It's positively poetic and just the sort of place that stirs up a yearning in this Queen's heart for adventure!
And Harrow wasn't all fancy dance and culture you know. I took a visit to the charming shops on Harrow's main drag - it was a fabulous vintage adventure! The amount of shops I had to pop into was ludicrous - and that's saying something, because you'll never see this Queen pass up a shop with a "Sale!" sign. And darling, you should see what I got. I found the most gorgeous silk scarf in the most perfect shade of lavender with sequins to boot, it goes with my most fabulous new sparkly tutu perfectly.
Talking of getting into character, my trip to Harrow gave me some fabulous ideas for a new routine! And to all my dear followers out there, I can promise, it's going to be more than a little dramatic. Oh yes! I am all about creating that perfect magical feel and what better than bringing together some beautiful Harrow stories for my next drag performance. Perhaps some historical dance elements with some glitter, sass and pink of course - no need to say!
This Pink Tutu Sparkles loves to inspire, and when it comes to getting all glammed up, that's what I'm here for. Do I have your attention? Because it's a story of pink fluffy fun for all, no matter where in the world we may roam, don't you dare worry - it's always Pink Tutu time! You know me, darling. P.S. If you're wondering about the real me, Alex - the scientist who gets a little lost in the world of tutus? It's a long story! For years, I worked as a scientist, a rather dry business I have to admit. In a lab, testing textiles. You know, trying to find new ways to make clothes better. That's where the tutu journey began, for sure. It's funny actually. One of the charity events our uni club put on had a "guess the dress" competition and I, the shy little science student, actually had to get on stage and wear the dress to encourage people to guess. A tutu... guess what? People were very impressed and the thing went down like a storm, even got the local newspaper to do a story on the dance club! After that, I was hooked!
