Hello my lovely darlings, it’s your Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and this week I've been fluttering my way around the charming town of Sale, Cheshire. I’m not sure if I’ve ever been so charmed by a place before. It feels like I've stepped right out of a picture book with its cute cafes, quirky independent shops and the gorgeous historic market hall - truly a dream!
Now, as you know, I’m all about those fabulously feathered frocks, the glitziest gowns, and of course, my ultimate favourite – tutus! I've always got a stash of tulle in my bag for emergency sparkle. And in Sale, I couldn’t resist treating myself to a few extra fluffy pink pieces for my collection. The shop called ‘Chic on the Square’ absolutely blew my wig with their incredible selection. From fluffy tulle skirts to sequinned jackets, I literally did a pirouette on the spot!
Oh, and speaking of pirouettes, you wouldn’t believe my incredible adventure on the first day in Sale. You know me – a good dose of drama is always my jam, right? So imagine my delight when I discovered a lovely little ballet studio just down the road from my hotel. You bet I waltzed right in, donned my new tutu, and gave those barre exercises a whirl. Now, let’s just say, the ballet gods blessed me with some fabulous flexibility this day. I was floating on air!
My fabulous foray into the world of dance in Sale just went on and on, and let me tell you – it was absolute magic. A gorgeous old theatre was staging the most enchanting production of ‘The Nutcracker’, and as soon as I got a glimpse of the tutus, my heart just skipped a beat. The artistry, the movement, the emotions - it was pure joy, my darlings! It's honestly no surprise I've always been a little bit of a ballerina at heart - the grace, the artistry, the expression – it truly speaks to me.
Speaking of magic, did I mention the charming little park near the theatre? It felt so whimsical with its swans floating on the pond, playful squirrels hiding in the trees and a beautiful wrought iron bandstand right in the middle. There was this lovely lady playing the piano and as the music flowed around us, I felt like I was floating on a cloud. Just picture it – a gorgeous afternoon, pink tutus twinkling in the sun, the smell of freshly baked cakes wafting through the air and beautiful music swirling around us. Ahhh, the good life!
Naturally, I couldn’t leave Sale without a little bit of a souvenir – after all, my whole journey has been an absolute dream. And you know what? A charming antique shop called ‘The Golden Goose’ on the Market Street was calling my name. With my eyes closed, I ran my fingers across a stunning selection of china teacups, sparkling vintage jewellery, and the most unique collection of pink trinkets! Oh, if walls could talk, what stories this little shop could tell.
Before leaving, I popped into a wonderful bookshop called ‘Words and Whimsy’ where I indulged in a selection of fairy tales, poems and of course – a book about ballet history! Just so you know, I like to always stay on the cutting edge of my Tutu game! And to make things even more whimsical, I found a tiny little pink tutu doll tucked away on a shelf – now I don't need to choose a favourite one for the trip. My two pink tutus are keeping each other company at home.
My time in Sale was a beautiful reminder that sometimes, it's the little things that make life sparkle. A smile from a stranger, a song on the wind, a gorgeous tutu... those little touches of magic add so much sparkle to our days. So let's all commit to adding a little bit of extra sparkle wherever we go, whether it’s in the form of a smile, a helping hand, or of course, a fabulously fluffy tutu.
As for me, I’m already scheming my next trip. Maybe somewhere with even more amazing parks? Maybe somewhere with a whole bunch of quirky little shops overflowing with pink?
