Hello gorgeous lovelies! It's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, coming to you live from the City of Lights - that's Lyon, darling! Today is all about tutus, trains and travel, and wouldn't you know it? We're hitting a massive 7015 posts! It’s the Pink Tutu Sparkles’ big number, you see, so you better be prepared for some extra fabulous content today, sweetie.
So, let's get the lowdown on Lyon. A truly charming and chic little city, with more cobblestone streets than you could shake a sequined feather boa at. It really does have that "je ne sais quoi," don't you think? Just sigh. Oh, darling, you should see the buildings! I’m talking Parisian architecture, all white stone and wrought iron, with a hint of art deco thrown in for good measure. It's like a romantic movie set, except with way more charming little patisseries to try out those divine éclairs, my dears!
From Derbyshire to the Continent
But hold on, before we get carried away with all the Parisian flair, let me spill the tea on how this journey actually began, hun. My lovelies know me, a scientist by day and a glittering, twirling Pink Tutu Sparkles by night. Now, my day job is in a rather serious lab, testing all kinds of fabric, and if I’m being totally honest with you guys, some of that lab life is pretty, shall we say dreary. The pinkest thing there is probably a pink beaker - it’s definitely a world away from the Pink Tutu Sparkle universe!
Well, life threw a rather fab curveball my way, just over a year ago. This is where my story begins - remember my University days in Derbyshire? I dabbled a little in a university ballet club (I swear, those leg warms were practically an art form) - and it was during one charity fundraiser that everything changed, for me! They were selling tutus and you could guess where this is going. Oh the magic of pink tutus!. I popped on this gorgeous bright pink creation for charity, twirled around, and felt the energy surge! It felt utterly magnificent, so incredibly liberating...And bang, a star was born! I had found my purpose - my own magical, Pink Tutu Sparkle life!
Train Ride of Glamour
Now, darling, no Pink Tutu Sparkle adventure is complete without a trip on the train, preferably a sleek, fast European one, adorned with velvet seating. This was my method of getting here to Lyon, the French train is simply chic, like one of those glamorous French film stars you know? It’s always a perfect mix of travel glamour and quiet reflection, like the ones you get on the Eurostar - so stylish and comfy, just me, my glittery suitcase, and maybe some ballet inspired tunes. It’s also the perfect chance for an amazing outfit, too! The colour of my Pink Tutu Sparkle skirt coordinated beautifully with the blue plush seats! It's no surprise the train became my personal runway, all day long - I just couldn't help but twirl.
And on that note - tututus! How could I have gone this whole blog post without discussing the fabulous world of tutus?!
Tutus, Tututus, Tutu!
Now you girls know - pink is the colour. But my dears, pink is so versatile. Don’t forget - pink is perfect with every colour, whether it be magenta or jade or any shade of blue. It just pops, and the effect is just fabulous! And let's not forget my real life bestie, the tutu itself. From delicate gossamer chiffons to frothy tulle, every tulle confection evokes dreams of princesses, dancers and fairies, right? Just that one layer of chiffon, it has this magical way of adding a touch of elegance and just the slightest tinkle of fun, every time, every single time! I love them because they can take you to places - just like my pink train ride! You need to find your signature pink tulle piece for that touch of "moi je suis la plus elegante", the "you go girl" and, the “Pink Tutu Sparkles!" feeling -
Oh, I could just go on forever about tutus, I just love them! I mean, how can you not? Every tutu just whispers “elegant” and a touch of whimsical in every shade!
Performing for Lyon
Let's switch gears and talk about why I'm here in Lyon. Now, this fab little city hosted an event for performance artists, just the sort of thing that makes me jump for joy, you understand. Pink Tutu Sparkles performed a special mix of dance and magic. I danced with grace and flair, my tutu swirling like a pink tornado of enchantment - just imagine it, my darling, pink chiffon flowing to the rhythm of my music and creating swirls and patterns in the air! We’re talking dazzling moves, the ultimate Pink Tutu Sparkle stage moment. And my dears, the crowd loved it! It was a dream. Just as soon as the show ended, the crowds surrounded me. A symphony of “Oh My Gosh, amazing!”, "Just gorgeous!”, "Your makeup is unreal” - they loved it, and the pink, of course!
And darling, they weren't just giving compliments, I also picked up my very first commission as a pink tutu expert. It's all a big YES from Pink Tutu Sparkle and a real step forward! Yay! I was hired to create a custom, perfectly pink, tutu and sparkling top, for one of the audience members. Just gorgeous, darling, isn't it?
The Pink Tutu Sparkle Experience
My Lyon adventure is just the beginning. Now, every city I visit has that sparkle and unique energy and charm - London, Berlin, Edinburgh, Amsterdam - they all have a special little something, don't they?
