Hammersmith - The Glitter Trail Leads Me To Theatreland!

#TutuQueen Post #7021 - 22nd March 2019

Darlings, you wouldn't believe the whirlwind this past week has been! It's all been a pink tutu dream, really! First, let's rewind back to the beginning, shall we? It all started with my darling friend, Beatrice (or Bea as we all call her), whisking me away to Derbyshire on one of those wonderfully romantic 'Just the Girls' weekends. Oh, she had so much planned! A picnic by the river with clotted cream and scones, a little detour to the pottery workshop, where I nearly painted a pink tutu onto a mug (it was a near miss, I swear!), and a trip to the beautiful Chatsworth House, all thanks to her winning a competition in the local paper. Beatrice has this amazing knack for winning things, honestly! She's quite the lucky charm!

After our Derbyshire adventure, my lovely little carriage took me right to London, where a most splendid adventure was awaiting! You see, this little pink tutu-clad queen had an appointment to keep: the chance to see the legendary ballet company, The Royal Ballet, performing 'Swan Lake' at the glorious Royal Opera House. Honestly, darlings, the thought of those graceful dancers twirling in their perfectly-made tutus had me squealing with excitement! I even dreamt about it the night before.

But before I could step into the grand lobby of the Royal Opera House, a fabulous opportunity presented itself – the chance to perform for a fundraising event just off the glorious streets of Hammersmith! This meant a whole lot of fabulous fun for me, and a chance to bring a little bit of Pink Tutu Sparkles to the stage for the very wonderful people of London. And let's just say, that pink tutu of mine had never looked so good. I strutted my stuff, performed a little number that I call 'Tutu Takeover' (and boy did I leave those audience members breathless!), and even raised a few pounds for charity in the process! All in all, it was a smashing good time!

Now, darling readers, you'd be surprised what the journey to the theatre held. My journey was an unexpected mix of horse-drawn carriages and train journeys, making my way through the charming countryside before reaching the bustling metropolis. A good dash of glamour and whimsy, wouldn’t you agree?

As I reached Hammersmith, the sights and sounds of London began to flood my senses. The iconic red buses whizzed past, honking merrily. The smell of fish and chips lingered in the air, making my mouth water (and of course, I had to stop for a cheeky bite, because this pink tutu needs fuel for those dance moves!) It felt like stepping into a colourful picture book, full of vibrant details.

And then, there it was, the grand and historic Hammersmith Apollo, a magnificent structure that stood as a testament to London's rich cultural heritage. Just a stone's throw away, the hustle and bustle of Hammersmith seemed to pulse with life, with people coming and going in every direction. From shops overflowing with colorful merchandise, to trendy cafes with their tempting aromas, every street corner told a unique story.

Of course, no journey to the theatre is complete without a little bit of shopping therapy, wouldn’t you agree? There is something so wonderful about browsing through vintage clothing shops, sifting through the racks to unearth treasures that sparkle with forgotten stories. The streets of Hammersmith seemed to beckon me to explore, with its unique boutiques, charming vintage shops, and cosy tea rooms. Honestly, darlings, I could have spent the whole day hopping from shop to shop, discovering little gems!

In one little independent store called "Threads of Time", I found a gorgeous turquoise velvet dress with a dash of silver sequins. Oh, it was simply exquisite! It's practically made for a night of dancing, especially with those shimmering sequins under the theatre's spotlight. It's definitely going to be making a grand appearance on stage very soon, that's for sure!

While my time in Hammersmith was short and sweet, the memories I created will last a lifetime. The laughter, the glitter, the excitement of seeing those gorgeous ballet dancers in their tutus - it was simply magic, darlings! Every corner of Hammersmith seemed to whisper stories of creative passion, and I found myself feeling invigorated, ready to take on the world in my pink tutu, just like those fabulous dancers.

Oh, but I simply can't end this blog post without mentioning my secret project, my darling readers. You see, while I'm strutting my stuff on stage and bringing a little sparkle to the world, there's another goal that I'm working on - a grand plan to get the entire world to wear pink tutus.

Now, I know, I know, it might sound a bit crazy. Some might even call it a little… outlandish. But, honestly, wouldn’t the world be a better place if everyone felt as joyful and carefree as we do in pink tutus? It’s not just about the clothes, it's about embracing the joy and whimsy that life has to offer, right? It's about spreading a message of love, kindness, and self-expression. It’s a big dream, and I know that I can’t achieve it alone, so please, dear readers, spread the word, and let’s turn the world pink, tutu-by-tutu.

Until next time, darling readers, keep spreading those smiles and shimmering brightly!

P.S. Did I tell you about the fabulous costume shop I found just down the street from the Apollo? Let's just say, the "Tutu Queen" just acquired some exquisite new pink treasures! You’ll be hearing all about them soon! I can’t wait to share the latest additions to my dazzling collection!
