Let's just say, it's a serious fashion emergency, and I wouldn't have it any other way! 💖

Speaking of wonder, this is going to be my seventh trip to the good ol’ USA, and every time it’s an absolute dream. It’s certainly helped with the international travel bug, and the American audiences are so warm, welcoming and utterly obsessed with a girl in a pink tutu. It's truly a beautiful thing!

This trip, babes, I'm on a mission to embrace the magic of ballet. Yes, I've been known to shimmy, shake, and sashay in my sparkly, tulle-laden outfits. But this time, I'm taking it to the next level, diving deep into the elegance and grace of a classic ballet. ✨ And what better place than Boston, home to the Boston Ballet, for my personal immersion in all things ballet?
Where's Alex Going to Perform This Time? 🤫
So, before I become completely engulfed in the wonderful world of ballet, you might be wondering, how do I actually get there, and where on earth am I going to be performing?
The truth is, babes, it takes a lot of hustle! I juggle two lives. By day, your girl Alex is a serious scientist. 🔬 Yeah, it might seem strange to think that a science degree was the stepping stone to me becoming a sparkly, tulle-clad drag queen, but the universe works in mysterious ways. After all, it was at the university ballet club that I first put on a tutu for a charity event - the rest, as they say, is history!
It turns out, those two lives work surprisingly well together! See, I spend my days in a lab testing all sorts of different materials – think silks, cottons, linens, and yes, even tulle! 😉 But don’t think for a moment that this keeps me away from the glitz and glamour. No way, babes! Come nightfall, I’m on the stage, performing in venues big and small, making people laugh and dance with my infectious energy. It’s truly the most incredible and exhilarating thing!
But getting from A to B isn’t always the most straightforward process. And when it comes to crossing continents, my travel style usually comes down to two things: trains or horses! Yes, you read that right, babes! 🐴 I absolutely adore the romance of train journeys, especially across Europe, and who wouldn’t want to see the world from horseback?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not above hopping on a plane every now and then. But, in my perfect world, I'd take a train, stop in quaint towns, meet interesting people, and of course, flaunt a fabulous tutu on a whim! That's my kind of adventure, babes! 💖
Now, back to Boston. It's not just the ballet I’m drawn to! Every single trip I go on is packed with magical experiences, a kaleidoscope of adventures that make my heart sing. ✨ I’m planning on visiting historic sights like Faneuil Hall and the Boston Common, maybe catch a show on Broadway, and indulge in a true Bostonian experience at a classic seafood restaurant (though maybe skip the clams - they're not really my thing! 😉)
Pink Tutu Style - Making a Statement in Boston! 💖
I am utterly convinced, my darlings, that a pink tutu makes anything – I mean ANYTHING – more fabulous.
Now, I know you all might think I wear pink tutus all the time - a little pink tutu with some simple trainers for nipping to the shops, a full-blown pink tulle extravaganza with a sparkling bodice for dancing the night away. Well, I’m not saying it’s not true, but I do enjoy getting out my old friend – my pink-tutu-inspired collection of shoes! I’m planning on hitting the Boston shopping scene, a place renowned for its vibrant shops and boutiques! I'll be on the lookout for some seriously fabulous shoes, to help me dance the night away! (It’s always more comfortable than wearing a full tutu for a long day of sightseeing, you know!).
I'm also absolutely going to be bringing out my ballet shoes - you’ll find me in a ballet class, babes, getting my graceful groove on! If it’s not in the ballet class, I’ll be on the front row of one of Boston's amazing ballet performances! 🩰 Let's just say, Boston’s going to witness the best, brightest, most dazzling version of Pink Tutu Sparkles you’ve ever seen! 💖✨
